Paint codes

Hi, I discovered two places that lists RAL codes for Kubota Orange paint. 1988 and Older code is RAL 2180 and 1989 and newer listed as RAL 2175.

Maybe there is a good chance these are close matches and a definitive answer.

They aren't Orange I which is the early color is darker than Orange II, the later color.

Early tractors were finished in Orange I and a blue chassis paint (NLA). Later ones in Orange II with ROPS Grey semi gloss enamel (available).

If you have a Sherwin-Willams there, they can color match what you require.

I'm getting a local industrial/automotive paint supplier to match existing unfaded pre-89 orange and blue. I'll ask if/how closely it would match RAL 2175 and 5150 - expect to do this early next week.

My local big box was out, so I ordered this on Amazon, going to paint some bucket hooks and new hoe feet.

He's offshore in another country so Rustoleum probably isn't available to him. Besides, it's Orange II and he needs Orange I and the now discontinued blue chassis paint.

The paint guy said there's no equivalent between the paint colour they created from my samples (orange from underside of fuel filler flap, blue from underside of PTO cover) and RAL colourspace. RAL has a limited range. Looking at the Wikipedia entry for RAL, the RAL numbers 2175 and 5150 are outside the range of numbers for those two colours.

Why not just order the Orange and Blue from a Kubota dealer? You will have the correct colors and be done with it.

Because they dont have stock, been waiting a few months already, this is Africa

I have now sold the 2100 and am waiting to take delivery of the BX24. The BX needs paint also....

The BX would look pretty lethal in matt black... no need to obsess about the orange...
PLUS it would be easily identifiable if someone decided to steal it.

(Can you get the heat-reflecting black in Africa? It's available in NZ)

Or camo... now there's a thought.

Yes we get VHT black and Rustoleum, but only a small selection. I certainly do not want to repaint the whole damn thing, just touch ups and repair. Adding hooks to the bucket etc.
