Overheating and now stalling - I don’t feel good about this.

To actually clean the radiator to it's full potential without removing and rodding is to get the big stuff off with air or water, then spray with something to set and soften the built up dirt. like purple power or something similar. Let the cleaner set for 5-10 minutes then wash it off. Then it's clean!!

Thoughts on using outside home air conditioner unit cleaner? It seems to work great on the A/C fins (and grease/dirt/other) without destroying paint or damaging electrical wiring.

A concern I'd have using any "cleaner"...is it safe?

Personally, if my radiator was at the point of needing chemicals to clean it, I'd remove it to do so.

So many good suggestions. Appreciate them all. I don’t have much time during the week to work on it but when I came home today, I just got in the seat and it started right up like it always has. I let it idle for a few minutes and then just drove some slow circles around the driveway, didn’t want to go too far in case it died out on me. Seems like everything is totally fine now. This weekend if it’s nice out, I’ll take a look at some of the posts about compression test just to make sure things are where they should be.

Watch the coolant level closely. If its disappearing something is wrong.

This is a case of "if you must ask, just don't do it". Not all condenser cleaners nor condensers are created equal. Some is highly acidic and intended to etch aluminum. If condenser has copper lines they will be damaged. I don't recall the manufacture(s) but some use tinsel instead of fins and those are so thin,they can be destroyed. Some are painted and paint will be stripped. Time from application to rinse is very critical. Need I go on or is it clear enough "if you are not sure how it works,leave it alone"?

my new process

Use most generic, non-plausible username possible.
Level ground with rake.
Take apart whole engine.
Clean radiator with file pushing down hard.
Polish with abrasive.
Install backwards.
Install forwards.
Tighten bolts with wrench--new idea of using a wrench instead of hammer to share and help everyone!
Wrench bad idea, breaks bolts, hurts fingers, use hammer instead. Replace broken bolt with carrot.
Fill radiator with gator-aide from real gator as test of cooling system improvement.
Comment on how radiator is now useful as a lawn sprinkler.
Ask forum how to fix radiator.
Ignore forum, ideas way too expensive.
Plug leaks with chewing gum and let bake in sun to harden.
Level ground with rake.
Paint radiator blue.
Take video of engine running with no leaks. Declare repairs success!
Stop taking video as engine starts to make odd sound and strange smell.
Discover cooling system not work without adding coolant. No wonder no leak.
Put original coolant back in radiator, gators are too hard to remove fluid from.
Paint everything blue, including battery held in with string.
Start engine, not sound so good. Remove muffler, now sounds strong. Problem solved.
Gum patches looking weak, do not start engine. Tell forum engine ran great for 10 hours straight with no problem, thank them for their help.
Paint blue again to glue everything together, especially sad looking carrot.
Sell on Marketplace as old tractor in mint condition in need of slight tuneup.
Join excavator forum.

It sound like you might have a injector issue.
That would explain the on and off issues.
If the injector is hanging it will do all the thing you are experiencing including overheating.
I would check the separator and fuel filter real carefully.
