Outgrown the 2022 BX2680

This story reminds me of why I watched so much YouTube before I bought my tractor. Most of my interactions with dealers started with "how much land do you have" instead of "what do you need to do".

This completely ignores what you need to accomplish, how quickly you want to do it, and the scope of individual projects. A flat 10 acres is far different than a hilled 5 acres, and same with wooded vs. clear, not to mention soil type.

For my hilly 3ac with clay just below the loam, constant road maintenance, heavy mowing, and a bunch of fencing projects coming up, I was pointed to an 18hp subcompact. After trashing that advice and deciding what I PROBABLY need (without the ability to actually test it), I still hope I chose enough machine with my LX2610.

Couldn't agree more. To make matters worse, I went from measuring my abode in sq ft (i.e., an apartment) to acres. So I knew the BX was going to be something of an experiment. Went numb watching all the YT vids. Learned as much as I could from various sources. There's no substitute for experience. So 9 months later and a 100 hours in on the BX, I think I have a better picture of what I need where I am. When I sit down at the blackjack table, I don't expect to walk away flush. It's just a bonus when I do. I could've bought an L before having ever used a hydrostatic pedal. But I sure am happy I made some of my newbie mistakes on the BX and not on an L.....

Anything bigger than a BX is definitely better. I have owned 2 BX tractors, and they are fine for what I want, but when I want or need more lifting capacity is when I regret getting the BX. I previously owned a very large Minneopoleos Moline tractor, and it would lift whatever you wanted, and being that it originally came from a cemetery, it could dig a hole as deep as was reasonably needed. That machine was both heavy and powerful, and that was a combination that I was looking for when I purchased it. When I sold it I was glad to see it go. My BX does everything that I need it to do, only a lot slower than I sometimes want. Enjoy your new machine, and it will be a world apart from your BX.

Apparently, I represent the only person in history who doesn't want a tractor LARGER than a 'BX - LOL!

I'd love a larger one but don't NEED anything larger than a BX so i'm right there with ya
