Our President has Covid

Don't usually post in this forum but I believe everyone from both parties, needs to say a prayer for Donald Trump and his wife as they both tested positive for Covid yesterday.

Whether you agree with his style of Presidential governance or not, please take a moment to say a prayer for him and his wife and ask the good Lord for a speedy recovery.

There is a very good chance (more than 50%) he has no symptoms at all. He is 74 however, and clinically obese, so we will see.

I'm sure. We need to come together as a nation and only hope for a good outcome. Personally, I felt that Trump was playing with fire by not masking up and not social distancing and I felt at some point he may contract it. He did.

He has some serious pre existing conditions besides his age (74). He's overweight and has high blood pressure which I believe comes with the office. Melina is 50 so she's not as likely to have serious implications as Trump but, in a way I hope this is a wake up call for him and he changes the way he views the disease.

I also hope that this don't turn into an Abe deal. Abe had to resign as premier of Japan because his health degraded to the point where he was no longer able to effectively govern.

Well if trump stepped aside we would actually end up with a better president imo, in Mike Pence. Thats just my 2 pennies. I wish no ill health or will upon anyone, and also hope he has no complications. The word so far is that Trump is having only mild symptoms. This is the most likely outcome. The vast majority of cases of covid 19 are mild or no symptoms at all. Only a small fraction of those infected actually have what would be considered severe illness.

A number of people I know and work with have had it. It affected all of them differently. One a totally healthy strapping man in his 40s damn near died and lost 30 in two weeks. Another was a morbidly obese female with MS, diabetic and other health issues and she sailed through it with only a headache and no sense of smell or taste.

Its crazy how this virus affects people.

Mike Pence would probably make a very good President and I hope he runs at some point. Quite a statesman. Chain of command gets scary after Pence. I prefer not to ever see Pelosi running the show.

Again, DJT and his wife are in my thoughts and prayers.

I say a silent prayer to the Lord every night before I go to sleep and Donald and Melina will be in them tonight and every night from here on out.

The lord blessed me with life when my survival chances were less than 30% and for that I am eternally grateful. I'm not a church goer but I believe in the Lord and after what I went through and still am to an extent, I know he is always watching and listening.

I'm not at all scared of the end, in fact, the end is the final rest, I just want it to be put off as long as possible.

We all die at some point even though we'd like to live forever, it's not in the cards.

President Trump is a very healthy person. He does not drink, smoke or do drugs, and never has. With that kind of lifelong abstinence from substance abuse, he will do great and recover fully and quickly.

I hope that 74 isn't considered old. I am less than 8 years away from that number and I would hate to be thought of as old when I reach that age. I don't feel old at 66 and I would hate to think that just 8 more years could be that much of a change in how i feel.

There is a distinct difference between 66 and where I'm at at 71 and I'm active but things take longer to do and I'm getting forgetful as well. I'm real good at setting something down and forgetting where I sat it and then later finding it and thinking to myself... amazing.

I prefer not to think about that. Trump don't look 74 in reality and his wife don't look 50 either.

I see he was released from Walter Reed this evening at 6:30PM. I hope and pray he can return and pick up where he left off.. I see others have tested positive besides his wife now. Hope they all recover as well as he has.

The guy is a warrior.

it was not as severe as flu still no picnic but obviously I made it

everyone's different

my half-sister had it and nearly lost her life but she is strung out on every drug imaginable so that might not have helped any. I rarely talk to her, about once every 10 years or so she ain't never got time, too busy chasing the next fix.

those that have other conditions, particularly ones that deal with respiratory system are suceptible to complications if you are healthy and no other conditions it's not a death sentence, quarantine yourself and get over it. i had to use up all my vacation time for quarantine but was ready to go back to work in 3 days, they just wouldn't let me so I worked out of the house again and made more $$$ in 2 weeks than i did in a month at work

Some have mild symptoms (like Trump) and some die. I know of 3 people who have died from it. 2 with contributing conditions, one healthy.

I think like the Asian flu, there is more than one variant.

I know I don't want it not does my wife.

The one thing that irritates me is the cavalier attitude people have for it. It will kill you (like the common flu) if you allow it to.

I'm not an anti-vaxxer. They perfect a vaccine, I'll get vaccinated, just like I do for the common flu. Might not be 100% effective (like a flu shot isn't), but if it decreases my chances of getting it. I'm all in.

No guarantees in life but cutting the odds of getting it is certainly better than nothing.

I have a friend, a 67 year old woman, who contracted it back in July. She went from feeling okay to very sick in a day. She was hospitalized for a week, but made it. I saw her a month later and she said she was still pretty weak, but slowly regaining her strength.
My niece had a cousin, a 24 year old young man who caught it in early September. He never wore a mask, went to bars and hangouts when they re-opened, never took any measures to protect himself or others. He died after 10 days in the hospital, the virus just destroyed his lungs. Too many young people think they are immortal.
