A question from a newbie!!

I have just put 55 hrs on a new 5470 with a cab. Just finished the 50 hour break-in fluid and filter change. The tractor arrived 5 days before two back to back snow falls left us with 40 + inches of snow. Now I want to put a radio in to her. I purchased a Jensen HD 1510. Anyone know how to open the top of the cab? Does the outside top lift off or does the liner come down?

Thank you for your help.

There is no need to remove the roof OR the headliner to install a radio. The wiring and antenna plug are right there when you remove the radio cover. Good luck finding an adapter though! We just cut and splice the wires. takes less than 15 minutes to install radio.

All true. When you remove all the head liner bolts you'll be able to lift the top of the cab off as well but don['t do that because you might break the seal under it. After all the head liner bolts are out it's an easy install. I had some pics of the roof off of mine but I can't find them. If I do I'll post them.

Found them! All your work will be inside. This will all you'll see with the roof off.

Thank you all for the responses. I found the wires in the pocket for the radio just like eserv indicated. The Jensen radio had the correct wiring harness with it to mate directly to the Kubota plug!!!:) I had to take the bonnet off to be able to arrange all of the extra wires for the rear speakers, Ipod, Sirus & PA connectors. Thank you again!!:D

Wildfire,
Is that the rubber like cover which came on the tractor over the radio cavity or did the radio come with a face plate of its own? The JHD1510 did not have a face plate and I am trying to figure out how to secure the radio. The sleve that came with it does not fit in the mount provided by Kubota and after installation there is a gap around the radio.

Thanks again for the help and pics.
