Assuming you can see some wires going into the seat itself to suppprt idea that there is a switch sensor in there, then climb up on the tractor and tilt seat toward you. Undo whatever screws hold a hard plate that is the base of the seat. (The problem with these directions is that I have one of those bouncy seats, and so the whole deal might look different on a different style). Once the plate is off, in the center might be a space in the foam occupied by a dome shaped piece of plastic that would be deformed when you sit on it. The cardboard goes between the dome and the sensor switch. My hypothesis about the worse when cold problem was that after my rear warmed up the plastic it was more flexible. Bouncing up and down and sitting crooked sometimes would get it going.

BE CAREFUL IF YOU DECIDE TO START IT AND TEST IT! The go pedal may work with no one on board and you could run over your foot or worse.

I'd really like to hear an explanation of how to two switch work and relate, sounds like a timer can even be involved.

For info about pto switch and also a picture of underneath of seat, look in owner's manual under the heading "stationary pto". My manual doesn't say anything about the delay in stopping, it was the dealer that told me that. It only applied to the pto switch which will be depressed when the seat is lowered for ordinary operation, and which must be raised to get the pto to work for uses when the operator is on the ground, as you might be for using a wood chipper.

If this is not clear and a picture would help I can scan in that page from my manual tomorrow.

The mechanism and circuits on the otherhand....:confused::confused:
