Ontario gone south

Drove from Chatt Tn to Knoxville today. Unbelievable amount of vehicles on the road with Ontario tags. At one point, counted 12 in a row. Does all the people leave Ontario for Christmas and head south??

Suprised you didnt see manitoba plates. I know many people from my small town that go south. Not snow birds,chickens afraid of the cold.
Two years ago it was -50 on new years eve.

Is that -50 C as in -58 F. Last year I thought it was cold when it got to -37F twice here and the river froze from the bottom up. At -58 F the river, fish, and river insects would probably just freeze solid all at once.

I dont remember a winter this warm.
I dont know how long the snowbird thing is going to go on. Many people my age take a winter vacation, not interested in a winter home.
I prefer cruise vacations.
