Not wanting to hyjack another thread, I though I would post a couple of more pictures of little 1970 Ford C600 since there was some interest in old trucks. It has a sall 330 cid FT engine, PTO dump off the Allison auto, air brakes and power steering. It shows just over 80K miles on a million mike odometer (so I know it has not turned over)

And the floors - amazing for a 42 year old truck, but then salt is not used on the roads for the most part om my area

Please forgive me fpr showing off, I spent a lot of time looking for a cabover in reasonalby decent condition as they are my favorite, followed by basicly any other old Ford truck.... Or old cabover of any type for that matter!

Here is a International box van that I once owned. It is a 1985, only one more year after that for the cabover Cargostar line of trucks. It had a 6.9 diesel, 4sp Allison Auto, power steering and 4 wheel disc brakes. I do wish I had not sold it and have put the word out to the guy that bought it that I wouldl buy it back when he wants to sell.

Anybody here old enough to remember how to 'Double Clutch'. I grew up learning how to drive in a 1947 Dodge grain truck.

The 78 Ford F600 I had you needed to double clutch the transmission, it was a 4 speed with a split rear end.

I was trying to get just a picture to load but nodice. So with this E-bay ad it looks alot like my old 78 Ford F600. Mine was a white cab with a green dump body on it.

I miss that old truck and I saw it last week as the new onwer is using it on a job. Man I got a lump in my throat when I saw her sitting there. She hasnt changed a bit as the new owner has hardly even driven it. It had around 55 thousand orgional miles on it when I let the F600 go and now has around 63 thousand.

The first large truck I ever drove (@ 15 ) was a Reo it had 4 speed with a 2 speed browny ahh what great memories double clutching

Ahh the old REO Speedwagon, which the truck came LONG before the band did. They actually stole the name and used it for their group.

I had found this little gem for sale on Craigslist not to far out of my neck of the woods. Its a restored 1946 Chevy 2 ton dumptruck. If I had the money it would't be sitting there long and in my driveway. I'm shocked its been up for grabs for so long.

Once upon a time there was a cabover Jeep truck ( early 60's), a strange little 4wd, but fun,, unfourtunatly a power line right of way, a very deep ditch, and high speed resulted in its sudden and flaming demise, it wasnt all bad we did save the beer cooler

Ahh, the FC series, as in the FC150 and FC170

I do love cabovers!

But those little Jeeps were definatly strange looking. And as well took some getting used to off road when breaking over crest of the hill, without a hood it amplified the perception of steepness, or just the appearance of being on the edge of a cliff!

I also love cabovers, and if finances permitted, I'd own at least one.
In the mean time, I google "cabover car haulers, images" for wishful thinking & drool material.

Those are some good looking trucks Eric.

Sure can tell those 70's paint schemes.

I have given some thought as to aquiring a cabover type Class 8 rig with a day cab and fabing up a short wheel base 10-12 yard dump truck.
