I have an older L3300 GST 4x4 with R1 tires, 7.62-16 front and 12.4-24 rear. I would like to change tires to either R4 or R14 and assume my stock rims aren't wide enough. My questions are, Do I buy new tires and wheels? Do I just buy tires for my existing wheels? What are the correct sizes for my old rims or what are the correct sizes with new rims? Lastly, where is my best option to make this purchase from?

Thanks in advance for any advice and or help.

You will need new rims for the new tires.
R4 or R14 need a much wider and normally smaller rim then the R1 tires

R4 are
13.6-16
25x8.50-14
or
41x14.00-20
29x12.50-15

You could see what a dealer (go through sales not parts)can do on a set.
Other options would be eBay.

I’m not entirely sure R14s are common in that large of a size yet? Someone here will know.

Hard to go wrong with R1s on an L unless you’re on pavement or turf most of the time.

I have R14s on my B. I wouldn’t have them on my L, even if I could.

R14's are available in all sizes, they just are not cheap!
