Hi all,
Just rewired a b6200hst. Got it without any wiring harness. Have it running and driving and charging but I think I wired the Oil Pressure switch wrong. When I turn the key on both charging and oil light come on, When starting and running both lights go out. I wasn't sure if I had the right light bulb in the right slot, so I disconnected the Dynamo leads, and found that it was in the right slot as the charging light came on, meaning it wasn't charging. Hooked it back up and proceeded to remove the wire from the Oil Pressure switch, when I did the light didn't come on. Shouldn't it come on with the wire removed mean no oil pressure or am I thinking about this wrong? Never own a Kubota tractor before and don't know if it working right or not. Im thinking I got something wrong. going to look at owner manual again. Cant remember if it said anything about the oil light and the way it works. Any help would be great. Spent a lot of time on the wiring just to have done something wrong.

The logic of the oil light is that the bulb is supplied with positive battery power from the key switch. The ground path for the bulb is through the oil pressure switch to the block.

Removing the wire just renders the oil light useless. To test the bulb, ground the wire from the switch to the block.

...to further elaborate, oil pressure switches typically 'go to ground' when no pressure is present. So with no pressure, the switch rounds the wire. Positive power was fed to the other leg of the bulb. When pressure can overide the spring in the switch, it breaks contact and the light goes out. This is most of them only have one wire, the switch body is the other connection, grounding to the block.

Sorry to not have replied to this post.
Was in the hospital with pneumonia. Got back and read yall posting and decide. I had enough laying around and feeling sick. So went out and put the tractor in the shop. I grounded out the oil pressure switch wire with the motor running and the key on and nothing happened. The light didn't come on, the bulb is good as it is on when I turn the key on and goes out when motor starts and is running. I decide to use a test light on the wire with the motor stopped and the key on, test-light lights up grounded to the block of the motor. Kept the test light hooked up and started the motor and the test light doesn't light up at all. No power going to the oil pressure switch when motor is running and key on. So I'm guessing I have the wire hooked up wrong, maybe on the ignition switch? or something close too that ideal.
will have to take a closer look at the wiring I did.. :(

I think the oil pressure switch goes to the oil pressure light, then through a 10 amp fuse, then connected to the AC side of the ignition switch.
