Hi, thanks for accepting me to forum.

I have a L3010 w / hydro. I was pushing snow few weeks ago and it appears from the trail of Hydraulic fluid, it was like that when i pulled out of shed.
By the time i realized i had a leak, it was a steady stream coming from the right side shooting out.
I shut down ASAP, crawled under, but couldnt determine where it was coming from.
Maybe a shaft tied to foot pedal?
I restarted to limp back in shed, and no leak at all!
When it leaked i was just under 2k on tach, and when i restarted i used very low RPM, just a bit more than idle. No leak.
So it appears it did not like the high pressure at higher RPM?

Is there a known seal in that area that would cause this?

I ended up finishing pushing snow .5hr then put it away, i put card board on floor and not one drop!

Thanks

Had a simular problem with my B2650. The hydro return line for the FEL & beyond is low pressure and it's a rubber line with hose clamps. Look for it near the fender and a shinny hose barb on the tractor where it should connect. May have to look under tractor to find it.

Lets first help you with some lingo!
You have a 3010HST not a 3010 hydro.
It not an oil leak if it not jet black.
It's a Hydraulic fluid leak if it's clear to yellow.

First thing, if it was black is don't run it again as there is a serious issue!
Second thing, if it was clear/yellow, check your hydraulic fluid level before running it again.
then before you run it the next time, look under the center middle of the tractor inline with clutch pedal, there will be a plug with a pin sticking out of it, push that pin up did fluid come out?
If it did, then your looking at having a front propeller shaft seal issue.
let us know.

Sorry, bad terminology. I will check these things tonight and report back. Thank you very much!

A little more...

It is hydraulic fluid.
Wasnt just a leak, it was shooting it straight out horizontal, coming from the area where the shaft comes out for the foot pedal.
Older tractor with 2700+hrs.

Thanks

There is quite a bit of hydraulic parts in that area so it could be a multitude of things.
You'll probably need to wash that area down with a good degreaser and look for wet spots after you clean it up.
Orange or purple cleaner work great if you can wash it off with water, otherwise brake parts cleaner works great for a no water clean.

I'll CAUTION you pressurized hydraulic leaks are VERY DANGEROUS!
Do not put your hands or face down there, or on or close to it, wearing safety glasses or a face shield is highly advised!
With it parked run it look for leak.
Then move all hydraulic controls, three point, loader valve, auxiliary valves and steering, one at a time checking between movements for wet spots or a leak.
Hydraulic connections, especially hose connections are the most likely place for it to leak.

Its pretty clean, but thats a great idea. I understand hydraulic high pressures and will be very cautious!
I will probably need to run the RPM up, as thats when it leaked last time.
Thank you!

After you get it clean, you can also throw plain old baby powder on the area. It will leave tell tale streaks and help with pin pointing the leak.

It is a very busy area in terms of hydraullic function. Snapped three pics of the underside of mine in the area you speak of. Let us know where you find the leak and we can better help ya out.

Well got it out last night and fetched some fire wood , ran it 2k rpm and no leaks, ran it for maybe an hour.
Keeping a close eye on it tho.
Any ideas why it would have leaked like it did, and now nothing?

We could all speculate as to what was leaking, but it's really just a guessing game at this point.
Could be you have a cracked fitting or line that needs a certain condition to leak.
Could be the seal on the filter wasn't fully seated.
Could be gremlins... Don't feed them after dark or get them wet!
