Oil Leak

This is my first post.

I have been invited to go to an orphanage in Haiti to repair an oil leak on their Kubota gererator.

The generator is a KJ-S150VX-60, the engine is a V2203.

According to the Director, the oil leak is at the front main seal.

I have ordered the mail seal, the gear case gasket, and the oil pan gasket from my local Kubota dealer. They are a tractor store and have minimal experience with generators.

This will be my first time working on a Kubota engine, and I would appreciate any advice I can get.

I also have a couple questions:
1. I expect to be pulling the fan belt pulley, approximately what size
puller will I need?
2. What size nut is on the end of the crankshaft, and will a deep socket
reach it, or will I need a wrench?

Thanks in advance.

Vic:

Thanks for the reply. The oil in your coolant article was very helpful. I'm sure I would have missed the step where you disconnect the start and governor springs.

I went back to my local dealer this morning and they confirmed that the same 46 mm nut is used on both engines (and just about every other Kubota engine).

You mention a WSM - I'm not sure what this is, can you give me more detail?

Also, the oil in your coolant article says that Kubota offers the socket as a service tool. Any idea what the part number is?

Thanks again for your reply. This site and your input has been very helpful.
