This popped up today for a good price on local Craigslist. Somehow the stars aligned and I got it. What are the general thoughts on these? Runs and mows well. Deck wheels could use some attention. It's an F2560. Would guess early 2000's vintage. Seems like they are highly regarded. Looks like my Lazer Z will be going up for sale.

I bought a similar style, but jacobsen. I went with jacobsen because it is all hydraulic. No driveshafts anywhere on it. Mine is a 2006 model and has a kubota D1105 engine. Mine is also 4wd.

How do you like it? Does it compare to a zero turn?

Well the tensioner was stuck when I got it, and it still mowed very thick grass, but the belt was slipping and the blades need changed. I got all that on order, and should be there when I get home. I still managed to mow all my grass in about 7 hours, that would have taken 2-3 days on my MX-5100 with 6 foot bushhog. It won't turn completely in its own tracks, but if the tree is bigger than about 4 inches it will cut completely around it. Less than that and I need to back up once.

The grass in this pic is a lot thicker than it appears and it is full of old grass left from my brush hog. This is the first time this was ever cut with anything other than a brush hog.

A zero turn would not work for me, too many rough areas to cross. The deck would hit the bottom a lot. This allows me to lift the deck completely off the ground.
