I’m a Bailleys Irish Cream guy myself.I like a snip of Captain Morgan Spiced rum in my coffee in the thermos when I'm out in the tractor. Have one of those Aladdin Stainless bottles, carry it on the floor.
Mom still has his last thermos. It had been run over by an old Super M he used forever. The bottom was distorted from the incident and would never set flat on a table again. He continued to pack it tho. We still laugh about that.I like a snip of Captain Morgan Spiced rum in my coffee in the thermos when I'm out in the tractor. Those old Aladdin thermoses have a lifetime NQA warranty. I have had to use that warranty a time or two. I still have my wide-mouth food thermos and tall beverage thermoses and I use them all the time.Mom still has his last thermos. It had been run over by an old Super M he used forever. Call me crazy but I would take a day on that tractor with the thermos over a free trip to Disneyland .View attachment 52843 My dad had a thermos holder on every tractor he ever owned. He drank a quart of coffee everyday away from the house. Hard to say how much he drank total in a day. It didn’t matter if it was -15* in January or 98* in August. Mom would fill his thermos every morning. Here’s to you dad....
You are not crazy. I agree with you.Call me crazy but I would take a day on that tractor with the thermos over a free trip to Disneyland .
I enjoy cutting firewood, clearing and pushing back fence rows along my brothers farm fields. Occasionally I’ll shut everything down, pour a cup of coffee, warm my hands on the tractor muffler and just listen to the quite. That’s retirement for me.You are not crazy. I agree with you.
Looks like it has been well used. Interesting, pretty engraving. Does the engraving mean something I’m not picking up on?Here is an example of a nostalgic accessory that I used when delivering newspapers during Wisconsin Winters. I used this many times when working on the farm back home too. I never got to use the tractor but dad used this when he was on it.

Yes, it means that you are either too young to have ever used one or you have never been cold enough to ever have used one.Looks like it has been well used. Interesting engraving. Does that mean something I’m not picking up on?
Hahah! Definitely not to young. It’s a re-fillable lighter. They had their own unique sound when lightning and when you shut the top to extinguish the flame. Hang on to it.Yes, it means that you are either too young to have ever used one or you have never been cold enough to ever have used one.
Now, your reply makes me think that I may not mention what it is and see if anyone else picks up on it. BTW, the engraving is not relevant. It is the item.
That's not it. You are close but no cigar.Hahah! Definitely not to young. It’s a re-fillable lighter. They had their own unique sound when lightning and when you shut the top to extinguish the flame. Hang on to it.
Not a John-E, what brand is it? I have a John-E upstairs, I use it once in a while with Coleman fuel. Here is an example of a nostalgic accessory that I used when delivering newspapers during Wisconsin Winters. I don't know the brand of this one. I was going through some old pictures and I snipped this one. I also have a Jon-E that I still use when hunting and camping. They work much better than the disposable dry ones that you get in sporting goods stores these days. Not a John-E, what brand is it? Those were handy, I used one for hunting 35 to 40 years back, now you have battery heated, socks, gloves and jackets. Before I wind up hijacking the OP's thread I better say what it is. It is a handwarmer. It used lighter fluid in the reservoir and had a catalytic element on top. The decorative holes allowed it to breathe so that the heating element did not get suffocated and go out. They could typically produce heat for around 8 hours on a single fill. It could also be placed in a shirt pocket and produce heat to warm the whole body.
