Heading to an OUTDOOR wedding this weekend.
Wife is prepping by checking the weather and getting formal wear that will look good and not get us frozen to death. Old man in a thin suit will not do it. She has a couple of suit / coat combinations and a bunch of dresses and pants for her. Several shoe or boot combinations. Scarf / no scarf. Hat / no hat. Oh, so much bother and planning.

Me: I polished the stainless flask and filled it with Woodford's Reserve.

buy some of those chemical hand warmers, and put them into your pants pocket, shirt, etc. They will keep you warm for a while. Just not so close to your skin that they will burn you. Hate to see you go "up in smoke".

Wife already told me no carharts, no ice fishing bibs, and no mad bomber hat !
Not cold enough to waste my hand warmers. Light leather driving gloves will do.
Both of us born and raised here so winter is no big deal. The wife's prep work is the crazy part.

Sure going to beat carrying a casket down the steps of St Joeseph's (Schenectady) in February.

Update.
What a great day. 40 degrees F (4C) , sun and no wind. Bride was lovely and groom a tad nervous.
Wife needed a wool coat but she is on the thin side. My body fat required only the suit to keep comfortable.
Short ceremony on the town green and off for an Italian feast.
I do not post family pictures on the net. Too many people complain about personal data and all that stuff.

All in all a good day !

A coworker just went to an outdoor wedding in Michigan. Rehearsal on Thursday and wedding on Friday. I think it was decent for them. Not 40° decent, but decent for Michigan in December.
Not a chance I would have done that for my wedding. I'm from Michigan and use to it, but still. Blah.

We went to an outdoor wedding last winter. Southern Illinois cold not North East cold. I’m was in a suit and I m warm blooded so I was good. Wife on the other hand froze her butt off and from the looks of the other ladies in attendance they were cold as well. Turkeys were done, if you know what I’m saying. 😃
