D2Cat has nailed it.

Social media has destroyed social graces we used to think of as essential. Many have lost the ability to spell, write coherent sentences, or even speak to another human being, all because of stupid smart phones.

I like technology and enjoy the ability to get information on my smart phone from on the go. But, if you want to communicate with me for more that three texts, call me. I talk way faster than I type on my phone.

If we were all men and women sitting in a bar, those coming in might treat us a lot more "human." The lack of personal interface that is the Internet experience allows bad behavior to become normal and accepted. I am with you guys and wave the BS flag.

If you come here for information, WELCOME!

Implicit in our assistance is a little effort on your part to tell us what worked, and what didn't. If you don't have time to contribute this little bit of information then frankly, don't waste our time.

Boss had a guy come in for an interview last week. Guy actually said "L O L, and O M G". Then wondered why he couldn't get a job anywhere in town

I do a lot with technology. Especially my I-phone and tablet. I pull parts diagrams up on my tablet quite frequently at work. And use my I-phone for pics of customer caused damage, or warranty claims. Wife and kids tried getting me to sign up for face book  Checked out my wifes page and half of it was was drama and bs. Said no thanks and never looked back. If I need to talk to someone, it's faster and easier to call them. I do text my wife quite a bit, but with her being a nurse, it's almost impossible to get her on the phone. So then it's a message and she will respond when she gets a minute ;)

Mr K sends out a welcome letter when you join, and I can't remember but I think maybe it includes some links to get people started.

One of the things it took me a couple tries to figure out is that in order to search the forum itself you have to click on Advanced Search. Clicking on just the plain Search gets you a google search that is not helpful. So that might be a reason folks aren't finding things.

So one thought might be to clean up some of our key threads so they are concise, and ask Mr K to put the links in the welcome letter. Eg how to search, how to write a post, how to post a picture, and how to find your tractor's manuals.

Nevertheless a lot of people would still rather be told directly, but that might help some out.

I am a newbie here Been here about a month. I am glad that I found this forum the area of wv that I live in is hard to find information and solve problems with my Kubota. Most everybody around my area own Massey Ferguson's. My local dealer is not to forth coming with information they want you to bring it to them so you end up paying dearly to get your tractor fixed. I have a bx2200 that I use for mowing(5acres)plus some brush hogging and snow removal.I am a welder/fabricator by trade.I hope I can help someone with their problem and I can receive help with any problem that I have.Kubota owner for 10 years.

Use the Ultimate Read Me at to the top of the forums that have them. Will potentially help you find answers rather quick to commonly discussed problems/issues/repairs etc. Granted as a new person you won't know (with out searching first) if your problem/issue is common or not..... thus why the Ultimate read me was created and being updated

Coach - - I think you've done a great job with the Sticky's. I wish more of the new folks would read them early on.;)

Hey guys....

Newbie here.. :D

While I did find this place searching a problem with my new to me '09 (three months now) Bota', I don't plan on being a "drive by' kind of member. I belong to many forums including Diesels, Rimfires, Chainsaws, AR's, Hunting, old Pontiacs, Refrigeration, RV's, etc... I do what I can when time allows. Made alot of good "online" friends aver the years.

Once I get my shat together, read some stickies, and come up with an informed question, I'll be back and be as courteous as possible. I'm with you guys..hate it when I take the time to post an informative answer to a question and the OP disappears...rude, IMO.

Anywayz...thank you for the forum and allowing me to join. I won't be any help with tractor repairs but........ perhaps I can contribute in other areas I'm experienced in...never know but I hope so. :p
