First off, let me just say THANK YOU to all of you.
I have been reading just about everything I can about my new to me tractor and learning TON of GREAT stuff!

Here is what I know.. I got an L2250DT (the 4WD one), it's old, hadn't started in 4 years before I kicked the starter and it booted right up (I put fresh diesel in it first, too).

It's got an aftermarket front loader on it.

Here is what I'd like to know... Can I put a Woods 750 on this thing? I have already gotten the memo that I need to be making this a subframe mount and that sounds great to me.

In one post by KCServak he's got a picture of his L2250 with a BL4530 hoe on it. In another thread I've read that the BL4530 was made by Woods for Kubota and was the same as the 750.

On TractorData.com it lists the available attachments as the BL4530 and BL4520 (equivalent to the Woods 650, as I have been reading).

However in the WSM (see, I'm even getting the lingo!) It does not list ANY backhoe attachments for this tractor.

There happens to be a Woods 750 for sale nearby, seems a bit pricey on the ask ($3000) but I'm willing to take a look at it.

It is set up as a TPH, but I'm assuming I can convert that to a subframe mount.

Any suggestions/experience with this size tractor and backhoe, greatly appreciated. (the L2250 has 21HP at the PTO and 26.5 at the engine)

Thank you all and I look forward to sharing my experience with making a subframe for whatever backhoe I get!

The BL4690 backhoe owner's manual lists the L2250 as a compatible model. I owned the BL4690 and worked it extremely hard and never had a bit of trouble. I couldn't have asked for more from it. I had it on a B7800 and even made a lot of money with the thing on a contract basis. In fact, I bought it from a plumber who used it in his business before I used it in mine.

Talking about 3pt mount vs subframe mount backhoes on any tractor forum is the equivalent of talking politics or religion at Thanksgiving! :) It's a hot topic with much disagreement. I was the guy out doing it while everyone was busy telling me it couldn't be done. Ha!

Hopefully this is just another data point in your overall decision making process.

Wow! That's great! Thanks for the data point, Sgtboz! I'll have to do some research about the 4690 and see what the details are on that fella! Does it say anything about it needing a subframe for any tractors (or not?) or was that before the arguing started :)

I have not had any luck tracking down a manual for a woods 750 or 650 yet, I've seen them shared on here in the past but I've only asked one person for a copy and am trying to be patient while I wait for a reply ;), before I make a nuisance of myself and ask some other folks.

Thank you again!

Since it is a 3pt hitch backhoe, it wouldn't need a subframe. Many have built their own subframes, however. I doubt the L2250 would have an OE subframe that'd fit it but it'd only take one comment to prove me wrong on that.

Yeah, not even looking for a OE subframe. I'm feeling pretty lucky to have found a local woods BH750! I'll be making a subframe for it... the old addage.. "know thyself" I'm pretty sure I'll work it just as hard as I work myself!

At one time Kubota offered a reinforcing bracket for the top link so a 3pt backhoe could be used. Long before sub frames. As far as the Woods I had a 650 and a 7500 and they are good. If you want you can email Woods on their web site with questions to see if they offer a sub frame to fit your tractor. As far as the hoe when you look at it, look at where the 3pt is bolted to the hoe frame you should see three 3/4 bolts on each side this is where you would unbolt the current hitch and bolt the sub frame on the hoe.

Thanks for the direction, Sammy.
I'm heading out to look at the hoe right now and I'll take a look, as you suggested!
I really appreciate your help! Gives me a better idea of what I should be looking for!

I have a pdf version of the woods bh650-750 operators manual. Private message me with your email address and I will send it to you. ------Just noticed that I was the one you were waiting for. Still need a regular email address and I will get it out to you.
