Newbie-question about KX040-4 and flail mower

I have a KX040. My brother-in-law wants to purchase an AGT 45" Excavator Flail Mower for me. Everything I have looked at shows it being used on a Cat 308, so I'm not sure it would fit my excavator. Does anyone have any information that would help me know for sure? My husband passed away last year, and I am trying to continue operating our ranch with only occasional assistance from my brother-in-law. Needless to say, I have lots of questions.

I think I’d ask the dealer or mfr’r of the AGT unit this question…so you’ll have someone to hold accountable if it proves incorrect…?

It should work.
You have a 4.5ton machine and it's spec'd for 3 ton min.
You have 17.2 GPM on Aux 1 so that would run it as it needs 10-16 GPM

But that is a lot of flail for that machine.
It's going to work it hard.
And running it to hard will put a lot of stress on the machine.
I personally would go smaller.

What do you need to maintain with it?

It would be used for clearing acres of blackberries and assorted other brush. i did some more research and agree that a smaller one would probably be better. Specs for this is 2900 Auxiliary PSI, and the excavator says 2500 max for both Aux 1 or Aux 2. Think I will tell brother-in-law NO. Thank you for replying!

Wouldn't you think Aux 1 and Aux 2, - 2,500 psi max., means max output pressure available from the mini-ex is 2,500 psi., but the max input pressure permissible for the attachment is 2,900 psi.
Seems to me that would all be OK!

Your right to question. First is your machine compatible, second, operator skill greatly determines success and longevity of such an attachment. Acres? Can clear a lot of brush with a piranha toothbar or grading bucket.
