there are short adjustable turnbuckles for stabilizer bars. does not seem so "stable" since they hang on links on each end. Would I need solid adjustable for box blade instead?
To pick the right length of center link raise the lower arms tell they are flat then 18" strait above the ends measure back to the center point link.

With the box blade on the three point, tighten each turnbuckle equally till snug. The stabilizers do not need to be 100% tight to do their job, It just keeps the implement from swinging in the wind. ;)

Hints: On old tractors; before attempting to mount implements. Free up all adjusters. May need to remove them, Hit them with a wire wheel and lube them well.

not that anyone really gives a shiat... but on my first attempt at attaching any thing it was a box blade. It actually was not hard doing it and was pretty much as video linked above shows. I had lubed up everything last night though before trying this AM to attach. Twas a help I thumk.

The hard part was the parts of the tractor that had not been touched in decades. There is a rod that limits up and down of 3pt via motion limiters of the hydraulic up and down lever. May be part of Woods belly mower? Guess this was the original owners primary purpose for this tractor . Stop blocks on the rod limit how much you can move the lever Fore and Aft. Well, as it was set this would not allow it to go low enough to hook up implement (Box Blade) and of course the bolt to adjust the stop block... BROKE as tried to loosen it. Rod seemed not to make much since for something where max lift does not matter and you need full drop such as a blade. So pulled a cotter pin off the rod and removed one end of it allowing full Fore and Aft movement of the Lever. So after 45 min in; that solved that. Took all of 5min? to attach the 3pt to the box blade after that.

Then there was the adjustable stabilizer bars. Even though I lubed them last night they did not want to move. After an hour trying to find the magic place to put something long enough to offer leverage to turn them; yet not hit something that prevents swing of wrench..... gave up and partially removed them so could access better. Removed the cotter and pin from the tractor end, swung the adjuster out of the way of things and cranked them around. Now it only took about 15 min. to set them and reattach. So got that done and...... off I went.

Hope this note of misadventure helps another newbie doing this first time on an old tractor.

Keep an old steel u shaped fence post nearby, or a digging and tamping bar. Handy for prying the implement from side to side as you hook up lower link pins. Aside from that a sailors vocabulary helps. I have found that the quick link adapters shift the implements 4-6" to the rear, making the whole combo rear heavy, and cumbersome, for me...

One user in here shortened his lower links so the quick hitch adapter and link ended up OEM measurements. Sounds like the best way to go.

First off...love the Hodge stabilizers have really made my Speeco Quick Hitch even more of a "necessity" with my L 3800. My question is with the Quick Hitch Adapters that came with my Quick Hitch. How exactly are adapters suppose to be used with my implements as I have not been using them since having purchased Quick Hitch about 11 months ago. Does the small pin that is in each adapter need to come out so that adapter slides on each pin that lower arms sit on? I'm just confused on using these correctly. Thanks.

Ok,

New here and new to tractors.

Just got a L3301 with the land pride quick hitch. I was out mowing with the finish mower and when I finished I realized everything I lifted the quick hitch to the full height it hits the lights and rear fenders. So day one I have a bent handle on the quick hitch and a busted tail light.

Anyone else have this issue?

Not being familiar with your tractor, does it have a lift stop block, on the lift handle? Relatively easy to fabricate one, just a carriage bolt, spacer, washer and wing nut did the trick on mine...:D:D

Thanks. It doesn't, but is my next plan. After I try to get the dealer to pay for the bent quick hitch and broken tail light. I won't bother with the fenders.
