Hello Im new to the group. I recently got a M6950DTS. I live in Canada and don't know what to do for winter maintenance. I also have a pull switch that I have no clue what it is for does anyone know what it is?

I don't know if the picture worked. It is a orange knob with a resistor/heater symbol on it it lights up when you pull it

It Might be for the glow plugs

When I turn the key and hold it it warms the glow plugs could it have a switch to do it too?

Possibly something added by the P.O.
Heated seat?
Heated steering wheel?

I do like the idea of a switch, so you don't have to hold the key for a minute to glow the plugs in the dead of winter.

Man, you really need to get some manuals for that tractor!

I have no familiarity with that model, so I'm no help beyond my advice.

to help find a comparible model for yours.

Just trace (follow) the wires from that switch and see where they go.

It looks like they go into factory harness then under cab,that's where I loose them

So I feel really dumb. Just got an email from the dealer and he was absolutely right. It is for the rear window defrost. Who would have thunk. Hahaha

Dustin - don't feel dumb. I actually thought of defroster, but have never had a cab tractor.

Figured they wouldn't have a defroster.......

Another reason why a manual is handy!!

Ran a buddy's tractor last winter,air seat,heat/defrost and am/fm cd player. Was wierd not running an open cab in the dead of winter. I spent a lot of very cold hours clearing snow on an open tractor.

My truck is now the designated snow removal tool.

I'm kinda looking forward to the snow to see how it does. I'm sure it will be better than the quad with plow and snow blower
