I built this little open frame trailer specifically to haul around my since sold older and smaller Kubota, and at one point even made a feeble effort to sell it here. Since I bought a 12' dump bed trailer to haul the new one around, I didn't think I'd need it, wrong. For hauling several yards of gravel, the new tractor, or other heavy duty uses, of course the bigger trailer gets used. But so many times just in the last few weeks the little trailer is just the right size.

I bought a gas powered pressure washer, and needed to make the entire thing portable so I could also wash my crane at my crane yard some miles away. With the only water source through a very long garden hose and with super hard water. I have pretty soft well water at my place, plus I had a new clean plastic barrel left over from filling my rear tires with wind shield washer fluid. For less then $100.00 I bought a ShuFlo RV water pump, borrowed the dump trailer's battery, and voila, a self contained portable pressure washer, on the cheap. The washer uses 2.5 GPM, so about 20 minutes of steady washing pretty easily. That's a long time, as this Honda powered pressure washer really kicks butt, over 3000 PSI, at the end of the wand it feels just like the commercial ones you have feed quarters. It also has an idle down feature when not spraying.

In a few days, I'll be using the little trailer, which I can tow behind my RAV4 instead of needing the Dodge 1 ton like I do for the dump trailer, to haul into town my ATV and it's weed sprayer. I'll take the trailer off the classifieds right after posting this, I didn't get any bites on it any, good thing as I'm keeping it!

Nice set up! If you ever needed to extend your pressure washing time all you need is one of the 330 gallon IBC tote tanks. Not sure in your area but I have see on CL or other various web pages for sale. That will really increase your pressure washing time. With them you can use the bottom discharge and even remove the electric pump.

However your setup is awesome and good job!

Yeah I had thought about just making it gravity feed to the washer, but the instructions make a pretty big deal about not running the pump dry, ever. With that RV pump I have a 35 lb. pressure all the time, and the pump can put out almost double what the washer consumes. When I haul this into town, I am coming down a mountain, so weight was a factor. When I start using it I'll get a feel for how long I have based on that drums capacity and modify accordingly. One of the fun things about home brewed things like this, making it up as you go along. The trailer already had a recessed frame for hauling a 55 gallon drum, and I had the drum, so for now it'll have to do.

With that RV pump I have a 35 lb. pressure all the time, (hard to imagine gravity not working... I just didn't have a bottom outlet tank on hand) and the pump can put out almost double what the washer consumes. When I haul this into town, I am coming down a mountain, so weight was a factor. We did something similar after my neighbor decided to light three or four slash piles on fire and then the field...extra small trailer plus 350 gallon poly tank plus trash pump = fire trailer. I want to add my pressure washer...what model of pump did you use?
