Funny how the truck buying process unfolds.

Family always had fords, my dads had them his whole life. my truck was bought from the neighbor and was a chevy, which was awesome. But i don't have any "Brand Loyalty" as my experience with both has been good.

I did tons of research, initially ruling out the ford ecoboost and was leaning towards chevy. Was actually hell bent against the ecoboost, and what do you know, that's what's sitting in the driveway LOL :D:D

I wound up with 2017 3.5 ecoboost. Love it so far. WAAAYYYY too many computers for me but that's the name of the game these days. The thing is a beast, can tow 10,900 and has a pretty sizable payload.

So now the important question, the GF gets one half of the garage and I get the other, WHAT GETS MY BAY??? The new truck or the new B2650.

I'm leaning towards leaving the tractor in the garage.

Get some cajones!!
The GF car stays out, and both the truck and tractor go inside.
Be a man!
Uhhhh....mmmm...didn’t work for me.
It’s called peace in the valley!

Lol! Casually mentioned it and it was immediately shot down.

I also like the tractor in the garage because it gives me tons more space than if the truck was in there.

Trucks are ten year property at best with steep depreciation.

Tractors hold value (but never appreciate)

Protect which will return the greatest value to YOU.

Think! The Barn may burn, taking the contents with it.

Same situation I have. No brainer from day one. The tractor, loader, backhoe, mower, etc... get "my half" of the garage.

Skeets - been thinking same for a long time.

Unfortunately, house projects have taken all the priorities (and $$) to get there.

Maybe someday!

If you can’t do another garage or shop, Throw up a lean too or extend the roofline of the garage out and make a carport! That can be done quick and cheap. Money spent will definitely add to the value of the truck over leaving it outside in the weather

I figured there was lots of you guys in the same situation and its great to see everyone is thinking the same thing, tractor in, truck out!

Yep, a new garage/small barn is in the future. Probably in the 5-10 year look ahead. Got quite a few other project around the house taking priority over that.

As always the $$$ is also a factor.:confused:

Yep i am considering some sort of lower cost / lower time investment form of shelter. Maybe a pole barn or something similar.

A little late with this reply but I vote tractors, ATV's and motorcycles in, truck out.

Agree with others. Tractor gets the roof!

Mike, I have a question about your backhoe. Would you be so kind to measure the length of the backhoe control sticks (length above the control box)? I have the same machine that I took delivery on yesterday and the backhoe control sticks are way too short to comfortable use. The length on my sticks are approx 10" (I think they really are for an "L" series) or perhaps to be used with a B series with cab since those machines have their own designated backhoe seat. I think the rotating seat used on a ROPS version B puts the operator seat height much higher.

Sorry for the off topic question, but when I saw your pic, it looked like yours was set up properly. PM sent.

Well I made a mistake when I built my garage, only put in 7ft doors so the tractor won't fit. Then I bought a 40ft shipping container but a little tight for the tractor after the boat and miscellaneous get in there so next I went to a portable garage for the tractor. It's been up for 5 years now (anchored well) and works great.

I have been shopping around all week for those. Glad to hear they hold up. I have a real nice spot for one. For the +/- $1000 am strongly considering one of those.

You can build a free standing carport/ covered lean too for not much more than a cheap tent type cover that might blow away or collapse under snow. 24x16-$1,200. Or 24x12-$1,000

If you can build off of your existing garage, it would even be cheaper, as you have a solid building along the main attachment point. There***8217;s an added plus, you could cover the roll up door or man door if both to keep rain, sun, and snow off your entrances too
