Welcome to OTT. May I ask why a front mounted snowblower? If it is because you prefer not to twist and back up they have inverted blowers which mount on the rear and you drive forward. The added bonus with these is you keep the loader attached for any clean up and piling. This option may expand your search for the perfect tractor. Good luck. View attachment 133275
It started with wanting to get a skid steer, so the front mount carried over to the tractor and to be able to see the blower working aiming the shoot. I'll think about it. My land lord does plowing in the winter I'll have to talk to him about his setup. Love the pic. Looks like the place we bought.

I’m at 4883 feet here in Cascade and I’ve just got a BX23S and it doesn’t have a turbo and I don’t have any problems with the altitude. I run all of my implements with zero problems. Just my own observations.

Hey neighbor again. Got a couple days left teaching and I'll be heading off the airplane straight to Idaho Tractor. Being talking with Kelab. Hopefully he can get me a GL5460. I'd like to get my snow blowing done quickly since I got 1500' of road besides get around all the building.

The L5460 is a very nice tractor for sure.

I blew snow for five years with a BX25 with front mounted snow blower, and these past three winters I've used a Land Pride SB1574 behind both an open station MX6000 and a cabbed MX6000. I clean up a much bigger area now with the rear mount blower and don't have a problem with it in terms of looking over my shoulder when necessary. I find it easy to rotate my torso in the seat to avoid straining my neck. When that's no longer practical I'll invest in a 3-point pull-behind model. I need/want the FEL free for an hydraulic snow blade up front which works really well on my driveways.

Good luck working with Kalab at Idaho Tractor. They are really nice and easy to work with. Dave will deliver your new tractor. He and his brother Chris are the sons of the of the original owner. Chris pretty much runs and Dave does the deliveries. Every time we have dealt with them, no matter what it was, has always been pleasant. Hopefully they have everything in stock that you need. Our driveway is only about 350 feet and I have a front mounted snowblower and I believe it's a lot better than one mounted on the pto. Mine is an open station and I wear a snowmobile suit and it works fine.

Well I’m pulling the trigger today over at Idaho Tractor, getting a GL5460 it’s being brought in from another dealer, will get some details later today. Planning on FEL L1055 with bucket and cutting edge, 3rd function with a grapple (not sure with one land pride or?). L4479 snow blower with l8387 mid PTOs, l44555 frt quick hitch, LAN BB1272 boxblade with remote, weighted R4 rear tires, mirrors rear wiper. Thinking about buying separately titan pallet forks, 20% down with a 0 interest at 60 months. I’m I forgetting anything rebates or other. I thinking that I got the attachments for winter weather, primary ground work for shop excavator work for our shop. I have found around the barn grass covered gravel pad area, that I can use the boxblade forks to get it exposed and reworked.

Congratulations, I’m sure you will enjoy your new machine. It sounds like you had the same problems finding a home as we did. When we started looking there wasn’t any thing available that we were interested in. We found 5 3/4 acres and purchased it. No hoa’s or ccr’s. We built during Covid and it absolutely destroyed our budget. A sheet of plywood was $5.00 in July of 2020. When we bought it in November it was $45.00 a sheet and we needed over 200 sheets just for the roof. I sure hope you have better luck than we had. We were going to have a pole barn but the house ate that. We wouldn’t be done yet if it wasn’t for the Kubota. It has completely paid for itself.

It's a cab. It'll keep me warm in though the cold winter months, and cool in the summer.

Gosh I remember sheets of particle board going for 60 bucks or more in cali. Glad I wasn't building then. I planning on using ours as much as possible to help save cost and time. Looking for many years of reliable service from it. Being in a resort type area the closest home depot is almost 2 hours away. We do have ace hardware and building supply stores here but price are at a premium.

Sounds like you pulled the trigger on your deal already, Congratulations. If you plan to use the box blade for much, you might want to consider moving to a heavier duty one. The BB1272 is okay, but fairly light duty. Just a thought and suggestion. Of course if you don't plan use it much, you'll probably be fine.

My Land Pride BB1560 is pretty heavy duty, a BB1572 may be a good fit in your situation. The higher sides add capacity and some weight which a boxblade can usually make good use of.

Well thanks. I'm ordering the bb2572. My tractor hp is 54. So hopefully it will hold up to what I do with it. Site prep for shop and home road work and a lot of grading work to recover old gravel pads. There's a lot of basalt ground in the area and other areas is nice dirt to work.

There you go, with 55hp and heavier 3-point capacity that big box will really cut through and move huge volumes very nicely.

May I suggest that that you look into replacement ripping bar tip part availability, and have at least one on hand for if/when the pointy business end breaks off of one of your bars. The shoe holding the chisel point looks to be a heat-to-remove or something that any machine shop can easily swap a new one in.

Cry once, and not a thousand times later. It's putting a hole in the pocket book but the rewards will be great! And my excavator contractor just suggested to get a used excavator, yikes.
