Good evening!

I just traded my partially restored Speedex 1430 to my neighbor for his B5100E... My Speedex is a lot prettier but the Kubota is just a lot more tractor... Mechanical wise it needs a new exhaust manifold and either a new ignition switch or figure out why it won't start with the key. Also, after sitting in my shop I have noticed that hydraulic fluid is weeping around the axles making me thing that new axle seals will be needed (hoping that is not too difficult of a job). Everything else seems to be good to go, PTO works, lift works, tranny shifts smoothly, stops on a dime, drove it across the street to park it in my shop building. After I am comfortable with the mechanical side of the tractor I will turn my attention to doing some cosmetic restoration.

My neighbor had two non-running Speedex 1430's, Mine runs quite well and I had enough spare parts to allow him to get one of his other one running. He wanted $600 for the Kubota and I figured my Speedex was with about a $1000 with all of the spare parts. I'm thinking that with a little TLC to the Kubota I am coming out way ahead in the tractor department.

Anyways I am posting a picture of my new rough looking little Kubota and my Speedex that has been re-homed.

Welcome to the OTT forum Brian. Glad you joined with us here.

My first recommendation would be to get a Work Shop Manual. If you do not have an Operator's Manual, you can get one at:
