New to site, new to me tractor

Hello all, new to the site here, im pretty excited about my new to me tractor its an old 1980 L345dt with loader and backhoe. Actually came with the full fsm for both the engine and tractor, owners manuals, maintenance records, even the factory wall mount maintenance poster. I'm going through trying to make it better right now. Topping off trans fluid and such looks like I need to replace the whole reservoir with Kubota UHF fluid as Sae80 w is like hens teeth now. Also the fast slow lock adjuster dial seems frozen not too concerned as the backhoe is attached but any one have thoughts there?

]I can’t imagine why ordinary 80W90 Gear oil isn’t easily obtainable in Alaska.(if that’s what’s called for). YOu can have it shipped pretty easily. Order from NAPA. i just bought a 5 gal pail myself.

I have the same machine and love mine. Its a 1983. Some parts for these are NLA but not much on them breaks. I changed my fluid to the modern hydraulic fluid a while back with no side effects.

I put a factory retro fit ROPS on mine for safety.

Any universal tractor fluid will have the Extreme Pressure (EP) additives to protect the differential gears,and work well for the hydraulic system,

Thanks all for the help with the trans oil. Yea I started down the convoluted path of gear oil vs hydro oil vs universal tractor oil and the viscosity and additive differences. When I called Napa today to ask about SAE 80, the guy laughed, said the closest he had heard of in 17 years was sae 50. I asked the kubota dealer what viscosity the Kubota replacement hydro fluid was, he said it was a closely guarded kubota secret. I'll have to look at the universal hydro fluid and see how it stacks up to the Kubota stuff. Here's some pics.
