Hello
Just took delivery on a new B2601, with FEL, Mid mount mower, and pallet forks. Loving it already even before I've used it.

I've read, I've watched videos, and did lots of research before I purchased. Is there any advice out there to let ke know what to watch out for, improvements etc from those who have had theirs for awhile.

Did I see somewhere that the machine is prewired to install a light kit on the ROPS? If so, is there a designated switch location?

Thanks

I'll be the first to say WELCOME. Great machine and you are already ahead of the game with your research and selection. I am in the camp of get out there and use it! Go easy early on, check it over from delivery JIC (oil, grease etc).

Lots of good mods and advice in the fabrication section. Easy to add lights but watch the load vs the OEM circuit - can't speak to the switch location as I decided on a shallow box with a block off plate to my left on my L

bxlr8 said to check oil and grease but he didn''t say it loud enough.

Lots of grease points are inadequately greased on new machines and many times the front 4WD axle is shipped low on oil.

You really need to check that stuff!

Lots of good info will follow BUT
the most important RULE NUMBER ONE is never, EVER spray 'quick start' in your Kubota engine!!!!

Rule number 2. If you disobey rule #1, you'll be buying a NEW ENGINE.
Rule number 3. If you post you disobeyed rule number one , I get to type 'I TOLD YOU SO'.

FYI if you have ANY cans of 'quickstart' toss them out NOW......

PS , give it a good wax job now, including both sides of the rims.

A ballast box will help allot when using the loader. Without one, your rear end may come off the ground. It happens fast and gets that pucker factor going. I bought a light bar that plugs into the cigarette lighter that I put on my rops. Very bright. Enjoy your new tractor And welcome to the forum. Am considering upgrading to a B from my BX. Post a picture of yours when you get time.

Congratulations and welcome.

My advice is to go "low and slow" when moving heavy loads with your FEL. Its easy to get 'carried away".

As mentioned above, think about some sort of ballast.

I'm not sure about your machine, but a stick "jumped up" and knocked off my fuel filter, within the first few hours of owning it, so I had to fab up a "filter guard".

Don't the B's (BX's?) have some sort of "fan" that some people like to protect?

One thing is for certain, we all love spending your money :p (y)

Congratulations! Put it to work slowly and learn your machine. How much and what type of land do you own? What are your plans for the property?

Welcome! You're gonna love that new 2601, I sure like mine.

Regarding the light power, there is a power and ground near the right taillight. It is not switched, you have to provide your own switch. I just ended up running new power directly from the battery to a new switch on the dash.
Other improvements? Remotes, Top&Tilt, 3rd function, . . . the sky's the limit.
No concerns with a cooling fan on the B series, that's only an issue on the BXs.

My 2018 BX23S came with fan guard, only $30 for it,probably fits many 'BX' series ?

My version of ballast box is to use a 'carryall' and one heavy skid or one light skid. pick the correct one for the job. heavy for heavy loader work, like gravel, etc. light for 'mulch/compost' loads.

I recommend that you buy the Harbor Freight LED light kit along with the wiring kit. It directly connects to the battery with a relay and you can just zip tie the wire to out of the way locations and up the ROPS to the light mount. Don’t drill the ROPS, just use u-clamps along with whatever mount you fabricat.
