I've been wanting a Kubota for awhile now and just came across a 1990 BF550 with loader and tiller. It is in desperate need of some TLC but starts and runs well. It has 1800 hours on it...should that be a concern? Also, having a bit of trouble finding info on the BF550. Anybody have experience with this tractor? Oh, and the asking price is $3500. Reasonable?

3500 isn't bad for a tractor that age. Depending on what it is, you might be stealing it :D 1800 hrs isn't bad either. For a diesel it's just getting broken in. I saw one identical to mine the other day going for $3500, 2wd, no bucket or attachments, and 35 plus years old

I got my L1501 for 2500. No loader 2wd just under 800 hours on the clock.
A little grumpy to start, have to glow plug even on hot days.
But that is my only complaint. Well the headlights need to hold bulbs.

Thanks for the info! I figured out that it is a 1990 L2850 4WD version. I guess the BF550 is the loader as someone posted. Like I said, she's a little rough around the edges but mechanically seems fine. I'll post photos when the rebuild starts.
