Painted the 25 year old Brown tree cutter. Years of use and stored outside with clippings had serious pitting rust. Drilled a drain hole, used a rust converter primer and top coated with Rustoleum

safety red spray can paint.

Mowed the once a year cut to the fallow pastures with the cutter instead of the Bushhog.

The rust converter is a good idea......OSPHO (Phosohoric acid, by the gallon) is the most cost effective.
Maybe consider using a 2 part marine brushed on epoxy paint another time.
The spray can Rustoleum is very thin, and will let water sit in those little pock marks, while continuing to do it's nasty work..
The brushed on 2 part marine epoxy will do a better job to keep the water from doing more damage in those pockets.

So, Rustoleum doesn’t have a Kubota orange paint color option? Nice work. That looks like the tool I need when I’m cutting buck brush that’s several inches in diameter.

Curious why you’d elect to use the Brown cutter for an old pasture rather than a brush hog (since it sounds like you have both). Does the pasture have large diameter brush taking root if you cut it once a year?

Do have trees trying to reclaim the pastures and hay fields. Nothing a good Hd brush hog can’t handle. But the 2-8” thick stuff around the edges are no match for the tree cutter. Does OK on the high weed and grass areas and first time trying out.

That log house was built in the 80’s from 300 year old logs from first school/church, cabin and community vegetable barn in the area. Next to original cabin from 1,000 acre land grant from the North Caroline territory, same era.
