I recently took delivery of a BX2360 tractor for doing land maintenance work on my country property. It is a great tractor and I am glad that we got one instead of a big lawn tractor. As the dealership said, it is an easy tractor to operate. I am not sure if I am missing an owner's manual or not. I received the manual for the front end loader and mid-mount mower. Is there supposed to be a BX2360 operator's manual. My initial question is where is the battery located. I have managed to figure out a few things, like how to find out the number of hours, etc.

The battery is behind the screen right below the dash .
Did your dealer not give you any orientation instructions?

Yes, I did get a 5 minute orientation about how to use the tractor. Including the front end loader, mid-mount mower, rear PTO and advice on how to take down the front field, which was over four feet high. The tractor came with a full tank of diesel and the delivery of the tractor was no charge. When I arrived at the dealership the paperwork and payment were completed in 30 seconds. The tractor was already loaded on the trailer ready to go.

I didn't ask about the battery and other maintenance issues as the dealership offers field service for the tractor. I just wanted to do some more reading about the tractor just to make sure I knew everything about the correct operation.

Thanks everybody for providing the answers to my questions.

A happy Kubota owner.

I guess every dealer does things differently but all of them should give you all the operators manuals for you to go over before you take possesion of your tractor. It could be handing you the manuals as you get the keys but they still should give them to you. One dealer that I bought from has a very nice package that they give you when you purchase a new tractor. It has a nice three ring Kubota binderand as you open the cover it has all the warning and safety papers and then the operators manuals are in next then followed by all the contact info for the dealer which included a card from the owner, my salesman, and the parts man. A hand signed by the owner thankyou for your purchase note was in the back for the finishing page.

As far as the full tank of fuel and free delivery that should be a standard proceedure from any dealership I would think. If I remember correctly the fuel level and if the dealer gave you all the proper manuals are in the Kubota satisfaction questionare that is sent to every Kubota owner or it can be filled out on-line at Kubotas web site.

Be aware of this as well, the service plan that the dealer offers is only free on warranty work. General service will have a charge unless you have something prearranged dealer so keep that in mind before you get a surprise bill for something that you assume is going to be free. My L 3000 had a flat tire the second day I had it and I called the dealer and asked if they covered flats. Their answer was no problem, we will get a service man right out and fix that for you. It was fixed when I got home from work but a $86 bill came with this repair. There was no hole in my tire, the only thing that was found was some trash inside the tire that had rubbed a small hole in the tube. It had to be in there from the factory but it still wasn't covered by the warranty. I learned fast to watch the fine print and to really watch what and how they say certain things.

Get your book and don't be afraid to ask plenty of questions. The more you know the better off you will be.

Hey Vic,

I bet it's a JD dealer and they are pissed because most of there sales are Orange instead of green. The dealer that is the closest to me started out selling JD tractors and now sell Kubota as well. 50 HP and under Kubota is outselling Jd 3 to 1 and 50 HP and up it's 2 to 1 and they don't like it one bit. I only go there in a have to case because I hate the way Kubota owners get treated. When you walk in the door all that can be seen is deere. Signs, posters, toys, hats and it gets even worse when you go to the parts department. Every where you look all that can be seen is deere parts and books, the parts guy even wears a deere colored uniform. They even have gone so far as to park all the botas in a fence that is so far back in their lot that if you stop after hrs. you can't even read the model numbers. Hell, their trucks that they deliver the tractors on all have JD on them and not even one Kubota sticker anywhere. I can't understand how they think it's right that Kubota is over 50% of their total tractor sales and yet they treat Kubota like it's a second rate machine. It just ain't right.

Vic, I 've been in business for 35 years and I can attest to everything you say as being true. I want my customers to be sooo happy with me as a person and the business I represent (which is me), that they will never want to go anywhere else. I am appalled at the # of times I deal with other business and leave knowing I will never go back there. My mother used to tell me," Son, allways treat people the way you want to be treated". It was years later that I learned where she got that. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Works for me.
