Hello,

As stated, I am new to orange tractors, I recently bought a l2900 with the intention to use it as a mower and an occasional driveway grading. I have had green tractors all my life and I must say I am very impressed with my new purchase! That is one stout little tractor. So, on to my question. My experience with the position control levers is that they are usually very easy to move around, my green 5510 can be moved through the full range with one finger.....now my l2900, not so much. I have to put alot more effort in to it....more that I think is normal....but again I never had an orange tractor...any thoughts? I have checked my speed knob, check for any grease points...again I am not new to tractors just new to this one.

Thanks.

Welcome to orange!
I don't have any experience with that particular tractor, but I'm sure there are many here who do.
I would guess that you're correct that it shouldn't be difficult to adjust the position control for the 3pt. My L3901 is very easy to slide the control lever up and down, however there is enough resistance that it stays in the position that it is set to.

Do you have the Operators Manual?
If not get it at Kubotabooks.com

I'll send you a link to download the WSM (aka Service manual).

Probably what is happened is if it's sat for any time the resistance washers have rusted up and are not sliding, a little shot of PB blaster might loosen it up, if not you can loosen the lock nut, then loosen the second nut to get the lever to move easily. ;)

Wow, thanks for the helpful responses. Jmg32975, thanks for the confirmation. North Idaho Wolfman, I downloaded the operator manual, thanks for the link. I will jump in this morning and work through your suggestions. I look forward to the Service Manual Link. I will update once I solve this issue. Thanks again everyone!

I am an owner of the L3901 and the L-M-H adjustment arm has gotten easier over time. If it feels like won't move, try lightly stepping on the F/R pedal and then shift to the desired range. Mine moves much easier between L and M now, I am not sure I have ever used High range...live in the hills.

Congratulations on your new tractor...they are tough little tractors.

It turns out this garage queen only ran a snow blower in the winter and stay parked in the summer. The previous owner actually cranked the nuts down on the lever so it would never get moved inadvertently. I took North Idaho Wolfmans advice, check and loosened the nuts and now, it like butter. Thanks everyone, this is such a great and positive community.

That seems reasonable if that was his only real use for it.
Glad it was an easy fix and happy tractoring!
