Hey guys,

Got a King Kutter XB rotary cutter at our local stock and field that is going out of business. By the looks of it, it has been there for quite while so I got a pretty good deal on it. I have a Kubota BX2200 that I plan on using it with. So in light of the fact it has sat so long I want to flush the gearbox and grease everything back up this spring. Is there anything else I should do outside of what is mentioned in the manual?

I also posted some pictures of it as well so you can see it's wear from sitting for a few years.

Unless the gearbox shows any signs of leakage it should be just fine, just check the fluid lever and top off with 90 weight gear oil and and grease all the grease fittings everywhere else paying close attention to the PTO shaft universals and the sliding halves. Nothing much to service on a chopper.

Awesome, thank you very much! Excited to use it on our brush this spring that has been neglected after we built a couple years ago. Nothing real thick, but don't want it to get much past what it is now so I can keep it under control.

Don't forget that the BX22OO has a plastic cooling fan for the transmission exposed underneath, and all it takes is one small stick to strip the blades off this fan, which is a cheap part but quite time consuming to replace.

Good idea to protect it somehow. Either by making some type of skid plate, or buying one. If you keep your MMM on you will probably be OK. If you have a MMM. Otherwise beware...

I have a bxpanded plate on it's way :) But thank you for the tip, I already bumped a rock last spring and busted the seal on the hydraulic oil filter and spewed it all over the lawn. After that I've been waiting to put the order in on the guard for underneath for when I don't have the Mid mount installed
