Hi, I'm Geoff from the uk, just bought a 2410 tractor with a cab, I'm going to use it to mow rough pasture on my small holding, and have a topping deck for this.
just thought I would pop in and introduce myself,then get too sanding and painting the rusted parts, the tractor was used for salt spreading, and though in good order has some salt damage in a few places that needs halting and painting.

Sounds like a lucky machine to have been rescued by you. Get it resolved and save another great machine like so many have on here. (Mine was a mess when I bought it.) Loads of advice here if you have any "issues."

Thank you Ray,
it's a low hour machine, (600 hrs), it had a snow plow and salt spreader on it,hence the low hours and high rust round the back, but it has a heated cab, and is road registered, which suits my needs.
The dealer has given it a service, and I have both a topping and a finishing deck, and post hole borer from my other kubota that is not on the road and has no cab.
I'm going to wash the thing all over with running water to shift any salt before cleaning off the rust and painting, other that that the tyres are worn from spinning on tarmac whist plowing snow, but are serviceable for now.
I got a good deal on it, knowing the dealer as I do, and with the rust to sort out, though it is confined to the back end and the cab is good.
Looking forward to fettling it and getting the thing working.

If you're working on rusted metal and want to clean it up before painting might try something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Ospho/b/ref=...=7490731011&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Ospho

Once you get the loose paint and rust off you can spray this with a spritz bottle. It neutralizes the rust and you can paint right over it.

I order the gallon from Amazon and it come from a boat dealer. You can probably find a similar product in "your neck of the woods".

It's has taken some time, but it looks like I can pick up my tractor tomorrow, so fingers crossed ...

I have gone through a few maintenance jobs, and other than replacing all the fluids I'm confident it is work ready, new tyres on it too.
I used it yesterday to mow a couple of acres of overgrown ground at my meadow ant it performed really well...

Hi there, I was on my own, I had the tyres fitted,and did my other tasks, greasing it up, adjusting the brakes etc on my own, she had been used to spread salt and plough snow, what little of it we get here, so was looking a little sad and rusty underneath, nothing a good wire brush and plenty of lubrication could not sort out.
My field is only 3 acres, but I have not mowed it in 18 months, so I left some wildlife areas for cover, I have a lot of voles, slow worms, and ground birds over there.
The little tractor has already found itself some comercial work, and looks likely to prove itself an asset to my day job as an arborist, I shall be getting a pto wood chipper for it.
I have a topping flail deck, as fitted in the picture, finishing deck, post hole bore, and subsoiler. Apart from the chipper I shall be keeping an eye out for a rotavator and light plow.
Service wise, I shall be looking after her myself mainly, and it will be looked after well, keep them fresh and they won't get nesh...
