So in the two hours I have studied the manual I have read that 2500 rpm is not supposed to happen for 50 hours. I have also read to heat it up and do not idle excessively and make sure you have your revs up
high enough. That is a contradiction in my books. I am going to mow for 1.5 hours in the next day or two.
Where should I be with rpm? Thanks

Some of the language in the Operator's manual is legalese to avoid warranty claims.

I almost never mow at 540 PTO speed with any of my tractors as there is no such law.

If mine, I would limit engine RPM to 2,000 RPM or so for the first 50 hours.

Did it blow up yet?

Back in the early 1950s my cavalier uncle, having returned from the Korean War, drove his new 1954 Ford Custom off the showroom floor and took it up to the maximum its’ speedometer would go...110 mph.... claiming that ”if it can’t do what they claim then I wanted the warranty to take care of it immediately!”

He never had a problem with that car other than speeding tickets.

(Of course, that was before emissions controls. Or seat belts. Or disc brakes. Or FM radio.)
