I practically have to slam down the hood to get it to latch. I've greaed everything and it helps only a little if I hold the latch open. I'm not seeing any adjustment to make it latch easier. Am I missing something?

I set mine down and then give it a good push down. I believe there is a gasket or some material to help reduce rattle noise. I will check mine tomorrow.

I have to push ours down and also turn the latch to lock the hood down. I hadn't appreciated the need to turn the latch until a day or two ago--not a big deal. Maybe the hood will self-latch when the gasket gets a little thinner over time.

It loosens up a bit over time, but I still drop mine from about 4" above where it seats and it closes fine every time.
