Benhameen, IMO you're totally fine using any sort of UDT fluid in the front axle. There are no clutches, friction surfaces, or pumps in ANY of the Kubota front axles, only bearings, shafts and gears.
Thinner fluid like UDT or SUDT2 will help "flush" the particles off the axle housing and get them down into the drain points. Gear lube may suspend particles.
Autos need gear lube because of high speeds and temperatures. Your Kubota has neither. I've run many a tractor all day and never noticed the front axle temp much more than ambient.
Regular UDT is $16.50 per gal, SUDT2 is $21. Tractor supply is $6/gal for generic.
If saving the $10-15 once every 3+ years is REALLY that big of a deal on your $20,000 tractor.....just sayin
Sheepfarmer, makes good sense...
