So this is my first post to this site. I just took delivery of a new L4701 and ran it a bit yesterday for about an hour, using both the 6' cutter and FEL. When I was done and parked, I walked around it to see if I banged it up too much, and found what I'm sure is hydraulic fluid on the frame under the right side of the deck, just below a manifold.

I got it wiped up and let it sit for an hour, went back out and there wasn't any more oil leaking from what I could see. I ran it again, doing some more playing with the FEL and cutter and ended up with the same oil on the frame again after I parked it.

I live on a hill so it's parked nose down, and when I checked the dipstick under the seat, there was VERY little on it. Do y'all think this if from the nose down parking or could I really have leaked that much. I HATE to think I just got this brand new tractor and it already has an issue. Please tell me everything will be ok and that I shouldn't have gone green!

If hydraulic - it will not leak unless running......so wipe down everything real well and then fire her up........ see if you can find the fitting it is leaking from.
I am sure it is a loosened joint,If you dont feel that you should tighten it - call your dealer that you got it from, and have them come out. It is their job, make them come and take care of it !:)

The dipstick needs level ground to be accurate...even a little out of level will cause the stick to be off......find a level spot and check again - I have to park my cars in the middle of my street just to check the #$#@ oil.....aint a level spot no where!:D:)

Thanks man! That's kind of what I was figuring and with Kubota trans/hydraulic fluid at around $20/gal, I'll let them tow it back, tighten it down, and fill'er up! Just hate to see her going already!

If it's still under warranty, take it back to the dealer. It likely is a loose line, on something, and something that the dealer didn't tighten up...:D:D

So it ended up missing a bushing or gasket on one of the lines. Got it back the next day and they even washed it for me! Glad I let them handle it for free! Ran it ALL day after that, and no leaks to be found! Impressed with my little orange tractor!
