With 1.8 hrs got it home and wants to stall sometimes. You have to try starting it 2 or 3 times before starting. When you get it started, you shift into f or r and start to take off and stalls. Eventually it will keep running. Any ideas?

Starting simple! Is the fuel tank over 1/2 full? Parking Brake off? The starting issue, is that after it stalls or cold start?

Just some food for thought, in case you are unfamiliar with your new tractor.

Make sure you are using the glow plugs when starting cold.

Also when you are moving, make sure you are sitting squarely in the seat to avoid the seat switch from cutting the engine off.

Full tank, cold whn it stalls, parking brake off.

My first thought was seat switch, and looks like several folks are thinking same. Good hypothesis, especially if OP is 140#.

Under your seat is a toggle switch, which is the Operator Present Switch. You can flip the seat forward (up)... to look at it.

I really don't know if this would work (or if it changes the safety switch) but from the back side of the tractor, you can lower the tension of the seat... it's like a "T" handle. It allows for a softer or harder ride... not sure if that will help or not.

as others have said PLUS what throttle setting (rpm) at time of startup and at time of going fwd/reverse are you using?

at dead slow on the throttle can cause similar type of starting and directional changing problems you mention.

Especially when cold If you are trying to start or when changing direction try having throttle cranked open a little maybe try at about +20% from dead low and let us know if this causes problems to go away. When engine hot not such a problem IMHO

Seat occupant switch located under the seat and I believe has white plastic lever on it and is not a problem for my grand kids and they are sub 100 pounds but for many it can be just never experienced this problem on any of my tractors myself.
