Hello all. New member here, first post. I have owned a 2007 BX2350 and currently own a 2011 B2620. Time to look at a new one again. Have a price on 3350, but more I read, less I want it. The DPF system does not appeal to me at all, especially with the troubles I have heard about. Now thinking about the 2650. Same tractor, smaller motor, and way less expensive. I can get 2650 tractor, loader, QC bucket, HD front angle QC blade, all hydraulic hardware, and 60" MMM for about same price as 3350 with standard loader, and 60" MMM. I'm getting to old to keep plowing snow with rear blade. Any pros or cons to either? HJT

fwiw, i went with the 2650 to stay away from the emissions controls. i averaged 50hrs/yr on my old jd 2305. i've put 30hrs on my new 2650 in 3 weeks.

I would go with the 2650. I was at my dealer the other day and he said that they still haven't got all the bugs worked out of the 3350's yet. You won't have to worry about DPF stuff. I think you'll be happy with the 2650.

I don't have it yet (hopefully by the end of this week!) but I had to make the same decision when I decided to replace my JD750.

Price was an issue certainly, but the main thing was avoiding the Tier 4 technology so I went with the 2650. It actually has a bit more advertised power than my 750 did and the 750 did everything I asked of it for 27 years so I'm sure I'll be happy.

I make a habit of NEVER buying the first model year or any "latest and greatest" technology. Let somebody else live on the bleeding edge...

I agree with offshore - old is better than new (technology) and the extra perks you get will be money and time saved down the road. I like the K.I.S.S. method........
Keep it simple stupid - the old fashion diesels that Kubota makes will almost last a man's lifetime if he takes care of it - the new ones will be fine.....in the not to distant future. New aint always better. Go 2650!

Dittos. I went with the B2650 as well to avoid any potential issues with the DPF. Also, the b2650 has the same engine as the b2920 so I've been assuming that it's capable of 29 hp if its tuned correctly. I haven't had been he been rage or need though to explore that. I've had plenty of power so far.

Just curious what the exact differences are between the 2 engines. Can a B2650 be made to have the same output as a B2920?

b2650 is a 3 cyl engine
the b3350 is a turbo 4 cyl engine.
only a few hp difference, but the torque difference is dramatic.
the B3350 like all of the small diesel engines with particulate filters, have issues generating enough heat during the region cycle.
currently kubota is having problems with only the B3350.
if you have to have the B3350, i would postpone your purchase until the problems have been resolved...

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse or bring up old topics for no good reason, but anyway...

I'm starting my hunt for a new tractor. Wanted a 2920 years ago because of the hp without the emissions. Long story short the 2920 and B2650 use the same motor (D1305), that puts out the exact same power.

As it turns out, the difference lies in the factory ratings:
The B2920 is factory rated at 29hp at 2800rpm's
The B2650 is factory rated at 26hp at 2500rpm's

What does this mean? Well horsepower is a function of torque at a certain rpm. If you break down the numbers, the B2920 creates a of 54.4 ft lbs at 2800 while based on the same exact calculation the B2650 produces 54.62 ft lbs at 2500 rpm's.

As the old saying goes... horsepower sells cars, torque wins races, it kinda applies here as well.

So back to those numbers...
B2920 rated at 29hp at 2800rpm's = 54.4 ft lbs tq
B2650 rated at 26hp at 2500rpm's = 54.62 ft lbs tq

Now to throw another tractor in the lineup I'll use the B2601, which has no bigger brother unlike the B2620 did when the B2920 was an option
The B2601 is factory rated at 26hp at 2800rpm's = 48.77

So the 26 hp b2650 is technically more powerful than the 26 hp b2601 because it produces more foot pounds of torque, which torque is the measurement of the actual work an engine can do.

Once again sorry about bringing up an old post, but I've just been hoping all along that Kubota would offer an equivalent tractor in time to the B2920 with the upgrades of the current 01 lineup (b2901). Turns out they do and its been hiding under our noses all along as the B2650 and it has not been plagued with the DEF issues the B3350 has been going through.

I just bought a B2650 HSDC and it is very nice. I was really thinking of getting a bigger tractor like the smallest gran but budget was what I was looking at and not sure if needed the larger one. I sure could use the larger one to prep land but after think the 2650 will be fine for my 4 acres. I am getting outside contractor to use larger tractor to work up land and then I will be fine. I also stayed away from 335 due to DPF as I work with new trucks and have lots of DPF issues. best without. Good luck:)
