I just recently purchased a Kubota L3200DT with FEL, Rotary Cutter and Wood splitter. So far, I love all this tractor has to offer. I am currently looking at King Kutter tillers and would appreciate any advise on the size to buy and if any adjustments will need to be made to the PTO shaft length etc... I have read some info on this forum but I did not run across any information about the L3200. Any other tips on other brands to look at would also be great as well.
Thanks

I run a 62" Bushhog tiller with my L3000 which is close to what you have. I would say that a 60" KK tiller will be perfect for your tractor. It might surprise me but I don't think you will have to cut the pto shaft.

If I had it to do over I would have bought a KK brand myself. I think you're on the right track.

Thanks, Bulldog. I am leaning very hard toward a 60" KK. Everyone I have talked to about it has generally said the same thing. Now I am waiting to see who will come up with the best deal!

I have the 60" KK gear drive tiller. Great tiller for the money. I didn't have to alter the shaft length with or without my Quick hitch. I highly recommend the King Kutter tiller. It takes out all but about 2" of tire track on the left side with my R4 industrial bar treads.

Ok now here is a question.

King cutter 60" for $1450. Or

King cutter 60" reverse tillage for $1650.

Which would you pick, is is worth the extra 200

I've heard good things about the reverse till. It digs in deeper and won't walk on the ground like a forward till does. Plus it leaves a finer bed on the first pass.

I didn't even know KK made a RT tiller.
Mine is a forward rotation tiller and at over 700 pounds, I can say it doesn't walk up unless its going over something big and hard and maybe that's something you don't want to grind through a RT anyway?
It takes a bit more HP for a RT also.

My "forward till" 48" Sovema tiller (on a B7000) sure does bounce around a lot when encountering smallish rocks. Hate to see what would happen with reverse tillage and a largish rock! :(

I didn't know a reverse rotation tiller was made by king kutter. I saw it on tractor house. Roseels in chesterfield mi has it for sale. I originally saw the price jump $200 and I was bummed. Then I realized it was not the same tiller.

After seeing in person what a standard KK tiller does I don't see the need for a reverse model. From what I've seen if a KK won't till it then it probably doesn't need to be tilled.

Excellent advise, that coming from you is worth $200 to me. Thank you

I just purchased the king kutter 60" . I dont know if you know but it is available in kubota orange....no extra charge. Paid under $1500.00 at Farm and Fleet with tax and from what I read the reverse tiller in rocky soil would not be good.

I bought the KK II 60" tiller and it works great! No need to shorten PTO shaft either. Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions!!

I have used both and would go reverse. It will push the dirt and clumps in front of the tiller until its pounded. It will push rocks to the front so you can see them and stop and pick them up, if thats what you want. I just picked up a new Land Pride reverse and was hitting frost last week and the tiller stayed in the ground rather than jumping out.

Well Eric, I wished I would have taken some pics of my dad's garden. It did a fantastic job on his soil. I ran in 2nd gear, low range and it did a beautiful job. My garden is a lot of clay so it did not look as good as my dad's but the tiller still did a good job, even with all of the rocks. So far so good!!

I have no walking or pushing with my KK- I would have no need or interest in paying extra for reverse rotation. I don't have experience with one, so I'm not bashing them. But, if I till various gardens in various stages, from new ground, to plowed, to plowed and disced, ranging from red clay and shale to dark loam, from clean to rock strewn, and I haven't had an issue of jumping, walking, or pushing, then I am happy with what I've got.
I would imagine that reverse rotation would take more power, since it is tilling against the direction of travel- that would be more than my B7100 could run.
