Need to mow and need advice?

Happy Mothers day fellas. Ok so I have my 1976 Wheel Horse B-80 36 in cut mower which has served me well over the decades but now its getting tired and parts are getting hard to come by.

I have my Kubota B-2620 which I'm considering putting up to the job of cutting my acre and 1/2 of lawn. I have looked at Kubota's belly mower at around 2200.00 bucks and its a little over what I'm prepared to spend and having the belly mower on it will just hamper me for the other projects I primarily bought the tractor for.

So I was thinking about a finish mower which is easier to get on and take off but was wondering if that would be overkill for my 1.5 acres(not exactly field type mowing). Wondering about the maneuverability with a finish mower and getting around flower beds with shrubs etc?

Or maybe I should just purchase a new/newer lawn tractor maybe 42 in cut?

Any advice or recommendations would be helpful.

I don't find the belly mower hampers me on my B2620. I find it comes on and off just as easy as a three point implement as it is a drive over deck.
And I like having only one machine to maintain now, versus separate mower.

I have a Cub Cadet zero-turn with a steering wheel, that I use for about an acre of actual lawn. It is amazing going around flower beds, trees, rocks and the like. At the 5 year point, no failures.
I don't believe you will be able to get really close as easily with the B. A zero-turn would get my vote...

I use a 60 inch finish mower on the back of my L3200 to mow 2 acres. I love it! You will have a bit of a learning curve to get used to, but you will pick up on that really fast. It cuts just as good as a belly mower. Easy on and easy off. I got mine for $1500. Good luck!

I use my belly mower on my B2920 and it does a great job. The only problem I have is remembering to let the rops down. It turns pretty tight and so far I'm impressed with it. I also use a Scag zero turn as well.

I use the 2620 all summer long for logging and bucket loader chores and did just watch a You Tube video on installation and removal of the belly mower unit, just looks like something i really dont want to have to do every time Im trailin thru the woods dragging logs over going over rough and bumpy terrain. Being an older tractor guy/Ford Ns, Massey 50, and old Internationals Im used to popping things on and off a 3pt in a jiff, thats just me. So i am leaning to a finish mower at this time.

Any advantage to either a single blade or multi blade finish mower, I see some units have one big blade?

If you have a mower with one big blade it's probably a brush mower, not a finish mower. It will provide a rough cut--not make a good looking lawn.

My finish mower has 3 blades on it. I'm thinking the single blade would be a brush mower as stated in the previous post.

Yes a finish mower will have multiple blades on multiple spindles and a brush mower will have multiple blades on a single spindle.
The speed of the blades is also higher on a finish mower.
There is also another type, a flail mower, and that type has many blades and can be made in both rough and finish types.
