Hello all,
I have been looking for a tractor for my new "farm" and have run across an '14 L3800 4wd, hst with 70 hrs that is close to me. It has the following: FEL, new backhoe with 12"bucket, new bush hog, box grader, blade & tarter tiller, R4 tires with rim guard. i have spoken the seller and gotten all the info - he has waxed the tractor twice!
The issue for me is that the asking price is $28k and Im trying to justify the $ for my part time use. I really would like to have a quick attach Hoe and it said it was $8K, but that drives the $ way up - its two weeks old and he has used it twice - " he had $ burning a hole in his pocket"

So, what are the thoughts - good deal? or am i paying a premium for getting all the implements I would like at one place?
Thanks everyone.
Chris

That's a nice tractor for a small farm, so if you have uses for all those implements it is a good deal. Jump on it!

Red Flag:
Why would anyone buy a tractor and sell it 2 weeks later???
And twice used at 70hours???
I would worry if loan that is due on it?

The price is about right, still worry, call Kubota Credit USA, 1-888-GO-KUBOTA.

I'd say its a pretty dadgum good deal.

I bought a "dented" 2012 with three implements and a loader with 126 hours on it for $19k and I think I got a super deal. That is newer and comes with the backhoe for what my package plus the backhoe would run.

Buy it or you will regret it. Yes, its not cheap but, it's half the price of a new Chevy Suburban and it'll do a heck of a lot more. You might even pay for it by doing little odd jobs with it. (Just make sure you BLUESTAKE or you can get billed more than the cost of your tractor!)

Don't hesitate or it will be gone...

You asked!

I would check for paperwork to prove that he owns the tractor. Sounds a little suspicious. Could be stolen.

Great price , story sounds fishy though . If it all checks out then I would grab that one . With all the attachments that is a great find .

Ask him where he purchased it, and get the serial number off the machine. Then call them, or go there, and confirm the information he gives you. If he bought it some distance off, still get the serial number and contact the nearest dealer. They will have the info on their computer. That new, it should be easy to prove he's the owner.

If it's the equipment you want, then the ball is in your court.

I'd me just as concerned with the statement "used it twice" and 70 hrs....Pulled a few all nighters? 70 hrs in two weeks is more than most construction companies put on primary equipment. Smells fishy.

Might have got over his head or has to move or

Maybe he had only one job to do - got a good deal and thought he could flip it , then maybe the wife put her foot down and said sell it or I leave.......

I understood it to mean that the backhoe was two weeks old and used twice, not the tractor.

Thanks guys it's the hoe that's two weeks old. I will pull the serial but sounded like a guy with bank and just wants to move into another tractor. Just a lot of dough but he said the hoe was 8k is that correct!?
Also concerned about a 3800 vs a grand 39 that I really want don't know that I will really tell a difference on power ??
