Im down to one last major obstacle on this L2000DT. The front axle pivot pin/bearings that allow the axle assembly to pivot over the uneven ground has severe slop. side to side, rocks up and down ect. Probably 1/2 inch of slot and seals are gone. I talked myself into an easy job, since it is just one pin, WRONG. I cannot get that pin to move and Im afraid I am gonna break off the welded dowel that gives something to hold. Any ideas would be grateful.

Not very familiar with how it’s set up but how are you trying to remove it? Tractor jacked up and on stands with front axle hanging? If the pin has a groove worn in it that bad where it has that much play you could be getting caught on the bushing or bearing it rides in. Maybe support the axle so you can move it around to find where “center” is supposed to be and see if it moves. If that makes any sense lol. I could be way more off tho too

I thought about that. Problem is, you cant get to the back of the pin. I also did get it to turn slightly with a big hammer and punch hitting that dowel, but not much. Thinking slide hammer somehow?

I agree, it must be hanging on the offset of the wear part. Might weld a nut on the front if you have a slide hammer that will screw into the nut and have room!

This may be a silly question, did you remove the set screw that holds the pin in?

I got it out. Ended up grinding the little dowel off them drilling into the pin about 1/2 inch. Ran a 1/4 28 tap in there and screwed in a 1/4 inch hard aircraft bolt. Hooked up a slide hammer and it came right out. The axle has 2 bushings pressed ito it that I’m trying to figure how to get out. They are worn as is the pin. Everything seems to be available and was placed on order.

Use an appropriate sized seal driver or socket and drive them out. If they are really tight, take a hacksaw blade and split them then drive them out.
