need help kubota wont start

I'm thinking since it was running when you looked at it, that the issue is something so foolish and simple that it's being over looked. I'm thinking that it's either bad or worn battery cables or a short or bad conncection in the wiring. And thinking that the previous owner just jumped it off to get it running.

Leaning towards a bad set of battery cables. Especially if the battery is only lasting 3 attemps. Before tearing into the motor and replacing a bunch of stuff. It might be prudent to replace the battery cables to eliminate that from the equation. And check and clean connections in the wiring where ever easily accessible, and especially at the fuel selonoid

Ok. Found loose wire on starter and the starter itself was loose . Went. Through all my connectons and tractor seems to be Cranking over good now but still no start. Pulled and cleaned the injectors. Yes took them apart one at a time and put back together same way they came aparty. They were filthy. Installed injectors and. Fuel lines. Since my tractor doesnt have a compression release i removed the glow plugs . Cracked open fuel lines at injectors and cranked engine over untill fuel was pumping out around the fittings. Tightened fuel lines and continued to crank engine untill fuel was blowing out the glow plug holes in the engine head. Installed glow plugs and wired back up. Made several attemps of warming glow plugs then cranking. Kubota was blowing. Tons of black smoke out exhaust. But no start.

I know it's embarrassing, but you might want to talk to the PO and find out his "secret" for getting it started.

Have you noticed blow-by out the valve cover breather pipe?
You're getting fuel maybe too much, pull the fuel cut off lever while cranking and see if it will fire off.
I'm betting it's got low compression.
Get a compression tester and let us know what you get.

well finally got a compression tester.. #1 cylinder 190 psi. sprayed wd 40 into intake and it climbed up to around 210 psi.. #2 cylinder was about the same and # 3 cylinder was around 270 psi

Pull the valve cover a check for tight valves.

Other wise I'm sorry but your looking like your in for a motor rebuild.

I don't mind buying broken tractors, but for some "Nice" guy to pass off a broken tractor as good and running is just "wrong"!

I'm a also betting that they dumped some heavy oil in the pistons and got it to fire.
