Hi,
I’ve owned a Kubota B6000 4WD for years now, but recently I wanted to find out the actual age and production year of it. I have already located the serial number, however I just can’t find any diagrams or information online about what the age actually is. If anybody has any records of B6000 serial numbers/model years I would appreciate if you could reply to this.
Thanks

I am sure you may know - the range is 1973-1977 - an oldie by Kubota years and was not very popular at the time yet many still around.

http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/001/2/6/1268-kubota-b6000.html

It would be the start of a line of very common tractors that are still around today - B6100-B7100's

Serial numbers really have no effect on finding parts (there are a few exceptions) but I do understand why you would like to know when it was made.

These tractors were used in the Japanese market typically in rice fields - most have the tall skinny paddy tires to move through the wet fields easily.

It has one unique feature that you will not find on any other kubota's - the PTO turns the opposite way = which can be a real sum-beauch to find a reverser for!

Right, okay, but do you know a way to determine the exact year it was produced?

Unlike some tractor manufacturers, Kubota does not maintain Serial # data by year built. Typically they are referred to by year first bought new.

If my memory serves me correctly, and many times it doesnt, a parts company named Messicks once helped me determine the year, or close to it, of my old L245 due to them having a serial break (in years) for certain parts. I could be wrong, but you might gather any and all ID plate information and give them a try. Maybe they can get you closer to the year.
Good luck.

I wont deny that. I certainly hope my 2 M9's outlast me. They probably will with proper care. So far, so good.
