Bought a b2650 with bh77, and I want a narrower bucket, a 10". My closest dealer can't or won't quote me a price on the bucket delivered. And he says I need to pay for shipping.

If I buy a part from a car dealer, unless i want faster shipping, I don't pay an extra amount for shipping, probably because they get regular deliveries. Shouldn't the same apply to Kubota buckets?

I pushed the dealer to commit to shipping and his best guess is 60 to 80 bucks. I already don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about this sales guy/dealer.

Shipping is normal on anything shipped in that isn’t on their normal stock order. Stock orders are usually a once a week thing for most dealers.

When I special ordered my Kubota SSQA loader mounting bracket earlier this year, I did not have to pay any extra to my dealer. They said it would come on one their weekly shipment trucks directly from Kubota.

Ask to speak to their "whole goods" person. They might be able to assist better.

My dealer has a stock order that comes in every week. As long as I am willing to wait for it to come on that shipment, no extra freight for me. BUT I have to pick it up at their dealer location.

Are you talking about delivery to your home? If so you should not be surprised to pay freight fees. Yes it would be nice to avoid them, but dont expect it.

Wait what is your current bucket width? Are you sure a 10" is a huge advantage?

I have a 16", but need to solve some drainage issues with 4" , 6" and 8" pipe. I would pick up the bucket from the dealer. I can wait for a weekly delivery, after all what's the difference if I wait a 3 -4 months or an extra week. Messicks isn't close enough to me unless I'm heading to Carlisle.

Additionally, what soil are you digging?

I have a 10" bucket and never use it because our clay soil sticks in it so bad. It feels like you are doing something, but really just filling the top couple inches of the bucket, so getting nothing done. And getting off the tractor to clear the bucket manually gets old REAL fast.

The 12 inch on the old mini ex I bought seems to clear ok. My 16" that I use on the tractor backhoe is better. Just my conditions though...

I am in Pittsburgh area. Where are you? Wonder if my Kubota 10" bucket would fit your backhoe? I do not usually sell anything, but you never know! LOL

Not to sound like a rich guy or anything but I rarely let $60 stop me from much anymore. I will not however "pay up" for a Big Mac when 2 cheeseburgers cost less. Go figure.

I got one of these, a bit smaller than you wanted, but may work? Shipping to me in WV was around $20.
That looks pretty interesting and might solve the bucket sticking nearly-full problem. Price is not bad either...compared to Kubota prices for backhoe buckets.

Some salespersons try that on standard orders, offer to take your business elsewhere.

If it's a special order or emergency breakdown situation then it is what it is, cost of doing business.

10” bucket to dig for 6” or 8” drainage pipe doesn’t give you much room to work to make sure your pipe is level or on a grade, and to get some stone and or sand around it for drainage and protection for the pipe.

Shipping charges at my dealer depend. When I ordered a larger blade for my LP, it cost me trucking fee. Shortly thereafter, I ordered a few other things, some skid shoes and such, and the parts guy said if I were not in a big hurry he could add it to their upcoming regular order and I'd have no shipping. Which was really good for me.

Parts (not whole goods) ordered through the parts department can be bought without shipping charges when ordered on a stock order. Many dealers place a stock order weekly.

Whole goods, including your bucket, are not parts and dealers pay shipping charges for delivery to the dealership. It makes no difference if the truck carrying your bucket also has other whole goods items for the dealer. Dealers will charge you for such shipping even if you pick up the material from your dealer. Some will mark it up.

I recently ordered the bxpanded 6" bucket, & ripper & quick on connector.
I assume I'll use that for 4" pipe or smaller .
$60 won't keep me from buying it. I have some clay, I'll need to get the parts & play with them. I'm 8 hours from Pittsburgh, too far.
