The truck is in a small ditch. It actually sits level. I bought the trailer used. The guy under the rear is reclocking the wheels which were put on wrong.

Maybe forgetting some old stuff we don’t really use

Trailer was titled to my father. He used it for about a year 35 years ago and then parked it in his shed where it sat motionless for the next 34 years. He decided it was time to either get it usable or sell it to free up the bay in the shed. In exchange for the title, I went through the wiring and brakes to get them working right, changed the wiring harness plug from a 4 wire flat + 5 wire flat to a standard RV plug, added breakaway kit, swapped the 3/16” safety chains for chains rated for a 14k trailer, replaced tires, removed cleaned repacked bearings, added conspicuity tape, put a license plate on it. I have about $750 in it. Don’t use it much but have used it several times to move the tractor. Dad lives next door and can still use it whenever he wants.

First pic is pre-rehab. Put the tractor on it to make sure it fit and balanced right before any $ or sweat invested. If all four trailer tires had exploded just sitting there, I would not have been shocked. Did NOT tow that anywhere.

Post rehab. Paint still original. Tires looking a little better.

Had the dealer install rear remotes. Picked it up at lunch so it was “bring your tractor to work day” at the office. It tows and stops quite nicely.

WOW!!! Lots of great setups out there! Keep'em coming!
My trailer was a distress sale. The guy found out his wife was cheating on him and embezzling from his company. The trailer needed a new deck and spare tire. Otherwise it was in great shape for $7000. Sometimes you find a nut, sometimes a nut finds you!

Good day. I have a diamond c. I will leave outside at a 2nd property part of time so went with it over a PJ because of the paint. Folding ramps are absolutely awesome. Get as many tool boxes as you can and a step is helpful. If you plan to load from side of trailer a deck over is the way to go in my opinion for my application. Maybe also consider all you want to haul at one time and how much space you need to properly load and secure. If you ever plan to rent something bigger GVWR for other use is helpful to think about now. Until you have a tire failure you really can’t appreciate a tandem axle. Happy shopping.

I think most state police will say the BH must be chained down on the deck.

One of the most argued things in all the land. Here in Jersey you have a better chance of getting pulled over for having no front tag than you do for having an improperly rigged machine. Most people that put machines in dump trailers don’t even chain them down lol. But if I was at work I’d never haul on the lowboy without chaining the boom down

I am not really sure. My understanding was that if under 10k and the arm is locked it is acceptable. But I am not sure and I am not the one writing tickets. I posted a link on another thread with Indiana state. It had some helpful info.
