I finally tried my new cab, LOL. For the same reason I didn't want a cab tractor, I haven't tried my heated visor helmet because I hate feeling restricted, but I wish I would have all winter!

It's awesome. I can let the snow blow right over me and the visor doesn't even get wet.
And it dampens the noise lots.

Nothing like dressing for the weather! Keeping driven snow out of your face goes a long way towards comfort while blowing snow. I used my fire hood and helmet combined with ski goggles for years. Last year pushed me over the edge with one big snow and warming temps in the low 40's, and this year I bit the bullet for a cab. The warmer temps ensured I got soaked every few hours.
While looking for better body gear, I decided on a jump style suit made by Occunomix - waterproof and breathable. Never followed through with getting one though - I woozed out and got the cab.
Were I just clearing my driveway I would be ok with an open station tractor, but I clear a lot of driveways in my area.

Brings back memories. A few years back we had snow every other day. Really windy days was snow suit and helmet.
My biggest trouble was cold feet. This winter i have super lightweight boots and with awesome linlngs. Its like putting an oven on each foot. And dry too. If my feet are warm i feel i could stay out all day.

What brand are those boots TJ? My favorite feltpacks are held together with duct tape :(

I have Kamik packs that are rated to 40f below... Ive had them for several years and use them for snowmobiling. They are great. I think the closest current model is the Greenbay 4.

I attach a picture of my current cab, it has music, anti-fog visor and hearing protection.

Works better than goggles and a tuque.

Excellent helmet no longer road legal

BAP, the helmet is a G-MAX GM11 Trekka dual sport. I used to use Bell all the years I raced motocross, but their quality has really gone downhill the last few years.

So I tried one of these G-MAX, now my whole family has them. They are light weight, comfortable, affordable and well made. And their customer service is awesome.

Sheepfarmer.....I can relate to the duct taped felt insoles, LOL.
All I ever use is those lined green rubber boots and my Tough Duck lined bib overalls and jacket. They work for me, I'm immune to the cold.

The Kamiks sound encouraging. My old favorites are Sorrell's that I got about 10 years ago when I needed to go to Lethbridge (Alberta) for work in January. I should try to get a rubber tire repair kit to see if I can't get another couple of years out of them, but the rubber is kind of rotting. They are big and clunky but the warmest boots I have ever had.

Sheepfarmer, you might try a can of this product to seal your Sorrells. I've used it for many projects. I think it originally was a coating for tool handles.

I had a fiberglass shower that developed a crack in the bottom and leaked water on the ceiling below. The only REAL repair was to rip out the shower stall which meant gutting out the bathroom because the stall was set in behind the sheetrock.

I cleaned the fiberglass and sanded down and built it up like I was repairing a Corvette. Then coated the bottom with white Plasti-Dip. Probably removed and re-coated three or four times in 10 years.

You can buy it in spray cans at Home Depot, and I'm sure many other hardware stores. It comes is several colors, white, red, blue, yellow and I think black.
