I have had the" jerky" steerting and irratic lift operation issue on B since it has had about 200hrs on it. It now has 394hrs. on it. After reading Butch's fix for his B series I went to my local Kubota(where I have purchased $60K in stuff). He said he had never heard of the problem and knew nothing of the kit to fix it. I gave him the part number for the kit and asked him to contact his DSM to try to get them to cover just the cost of the kit. I asked him to go ahead and order the kit because it had got pretty aggravating with the steering and lift. Well, my dealer said his DSM was not going to help at all so i'm out $185 for a kit designed to fix a problem that Kubota. I must say in fairness that I have 3 Botas and this is the first thing I have ever had a problem with. I think they are great tractors but this has left a bad taste in my mouth toward them. Seems sorta arrogant to me on their part. I have contacted Kubota USA again and asked them to please help with the cost of the part. Will keep you posted on their response.

The service bulletin is AG016-02 here in Canada. (US may use a different numbering system) Keep on their case about this! it is long past time these should ALL have been fixed up.

Your B2710HST takes a different kit than Butch's tractor. You will need kit # 6C070-99600 If your tractor is below SN 15496 Kubota should help you out some with the repair. It will be under their "goodwill" warranty and is usually shared between the owner, dealer and Kubota and is treated on a case by case manner. That means you will only get what your dealer fights for!!

Yes, I got the correct part# from a representative of Kubota USA. I have already installed it myself and it has completely cured the problem. My dealer ain't helping at all. You know,I have run my own business for a long time an if I had a customer in a similar situation I would at least charge him cost on the part. They charges me full retail plus UPS to get it here. A plate, a rubber hose, three hose clamps and a fitting. If Kubota USA blows me off this time my next zero turn will be a Ferris with a Cat diesel on it.

Boss.... you need a new dealer.:( Burke Equipment in Bear, DE supported me every step of the way in getting the fix on my 2410 corrected. These guys have it together when it comes to real customer service when it comes to correcting "gliches" in initial Kubota's engineering bulletin notices.

I only had one issue with mine and the dealer and Kubota District Manager worked with me flawlessly to get it corrected,

What more can I say.... Butch.:D

Got a generic e mail from Kubota saying they would refer it back to the dealer. My Kubota dealer says it's in Kubota USA's court. Me thinks I just got the Oscar-Meyer in the back-side...

The fix is pretty simple if you don't count yor time in doing the actual work (providing you are somewhat mechanically inclined)' I figure the total costs of parts would be less than $15-$20 bucks tops.

The biggest challenge would be installing the 90 degree power steering return port in the transmission top cover located under the seat toolbox. You have to take it off drill and tap it for a NPT threaded hydraulic fitting and reinstall it using gray RTV gasket sealer.

It took me longer to take it apart and reassemble than it did to do the job.

As far as I can tell there was no recall on this issue... just a service bulletin to the dealers.

Best of luck... Butch

Spoke with the Kubota rep today. He offered to pay for half of the kit cost. I agreed just to move on with things. My dealer offered to give me a credit for the amount in any parts I may buy in the future. I said no thanks. Just mail me a check.

Mine was free from Kubota. They even paid shipping. All I had to do was pick iy up from the dealer and install it. Go figure,,,,, right? Hate to say it but it looks like your dealer is milking you for 50% of the retail costs for the kit thay should be free from Kubota.
Here is the hitch.... Kubota says the dealer MUST install the fix, however, that is between you and the dealer. My dealer let me do it myself. This just goes to show a Brand lije Kubota is as on good as it's dealership.

Show youe dealer this and let him know you are on to his antics... AS KUBOTA CORP AND MY DEALER BACKED ME UP 100% on this VERY same issue. Butch
