I just picked up my MX6000 yesterday. I am wanting a grill guard but have a question. Every grill guard I see seems to show just the insert portion. Where do I find the thick steel frame that the sheet metal bolts on to? Or what term do I search for to find it?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Thanks in advance

I think most Mx6000 come with the brush guard frame (I suspect most with a loader come with the guard, but I don’t know that to be true)….at least mine did…just needed to add the aftermarket guard…typically they drill holes in the frame and then the insert bolts right to it.

Let me ask this, How do you open the hood on yours? Do you not have an OEM guard that you pull pin so you rotate the guard forward to open the hood? (Purchased mine looked like this).

Mine did not come with a guard of any kind. When I bought the tractor, it had a loader on it. Since I have a backhoe, I told the dealer I wanted it taken off to save the $8k uncharged. Maybe that's why mine doesn't have one. Here is what mine looks like currently.

Well that is a good looking machine👍…however it will be difficult to mount a brush guard insert w/o the brush guard frame. I’d check with the dealer and see if that should have been included or maybe it was forgotten. I did not specify the brush guard..but I don’t know that is included in the package or just the dealer includes for everyone.

I guess I don’t understand your post and what a backho has to do with the brush guard (or maybe I am reading wrong?). Either way I am sure you could find the parts online or call Messicks and order and install yourself, or ask your dealer to get em ordered.

It’s a damn good looking machine with or without the guard…I might be slightly biased😉.

I don't know .... something else seems to be missing in addition to the front guard and FEL. 😂

I have two MX6000 guards. I bought a spare from the moving auction that Messicks had a couple of years ago.

I was trying not to be the wise guy, but since you mentioned it…there is no loader frame joystick or backho subframe in that pic. So something no matchee. I’d definitely be checking fluid levels and wheel bolt torque.

Still a good looking machine.

I read his post as saying he "has a backhoe" meaning he has a separate machine with hoe and also does not need a FEL. with this Kubota. Removed to save the 8K up-charge.

I would further guess the dealer removed the guard when they removed the FEL that was on this machine. I again assuming, much like my L2501 that the guard was part of the loader package.

Maybe so that certainly makes more sense.

I would mention OP may want some way to hang front weights on that bad boy if putting BH on the back and no loader on the front. It’s a very different animal / setup with a BH92 (approx 1800 lbs) on the back than without a BH. At least it is with my setup. OPMMV.

For fun I went to the Kubota build my Kubota and priced the loader, the rops, loader valve, the 72 inch heavy duty bucket and finally the cutting edge and came up with $8084. I did not see any option to add a grill guard separately but the build my Kubota site has always seemed less than a great site. lol. When I added the loader the picture of the tractor did change and it appeared with grill guard.

From reading his posting it does not seem as if he will be installing a backhoe on this MX6000. With no front loader and no backhoe that pretty much leaves the drawbar and pto. Maybe a dedicated mowing machine? It is a nice looking tractor. If I was to up grade in size from my L2501 and jump into a tractor with DPF I would go the MX open station route.

I think you may be correct on the reading comprehension. To be fair I spoke to my dealer out in SD this evening and my FA97 may have arrived(I sure hope it doesn’t sink before I take it out on the water😉) Then I was all excited to see a clean MX plus I have already put down a few fingers of Buffalo Trace. 😆

As far as the MX, the way they are priced, they are definitely worth a test drive IMO if anywhere near that HP range. I was think GL but spousal unit like driving this better than the big L. It’s worked out very well for us for our uses and saved us some $$$ vs a a big L.

Wow, lots of replies. So they did remove the guard that was there when they removed the FEL. I asked if it was supposed to have one and the salesman said it comes with the loader. I'm guessing that's bullcrap but whatever.

In answer to why I don't have a FEL, well I just bought this machine a few weeks ago. So no reason to spend the extra $8k.

Can anybody tell me the part number for the grill guard frame?

Also, there are several without grill guards if you just look up MX6000, so maybe it is an extra?

Thank you. It's definitely fun to play with. Today I made a large watering hole for my wife's livestock.

This picture might change your mind? Looks to be a crated LA1065 loader, you can see the grill guard at the very front of the crate, along with the frame mounts and SSQA.

You have some nice machinery !

My disclaimer, lol, this link and the screen shot is from the Kubota website but always check for proper application. I used MX6000 HST four wheel drive, open station Rops.

Ken, in your screen shot I see it says 'Select Dealer to see Pricing"

I suspect that if you type that into "Google translate" it is roughly translated as Japanese for "Bend over, here it comes again!"

I bent the frame on my L3901/LA525 several years ago and I was surprised at how little a new one costs....
