I have the above code showing up on my tractor. The dealer in Vegas was not able to address because apparently it is an engine error code so they said that I needed to go to a Kubota Engine dealer in Vegas...but there isn't one.

At my wits end. I read that this error has to deal with boost pressure and might be caused by the intake hose coming loose on the turbo. There is supposed to be a bulletin addressing this but the dealers here do not have access to it. The engine runs fine and I think this is an easy fix if I could just get a little direction. Otherwise I have to make a 10 hour round trip to drag it in to a dealer.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

perrymec, you are correct about the origin of the error code, it is caused by a sensor reading a flow that is too low. It could be a loose hose, or a problem with the sensor. Can you check the hoses first? Do you have a shop manual?

Your immediate problem is that the ECU goes into a limp mode to get you home, but this mode turns off the EGR and restricts power. It could prevent a regeneration from occurring when it is needed, and that WILL cause you a problem.

Who did you buy the tractor from? The "dealer" that you describe is pretty underequipped if he can't read the code with a Diagmaster and give you further information. And he surely ought to be able to access the bulletins. Kubota has both an email address for questions and phone numbers on their website. My experience is that it takes persistence to get answers, but you should be able to reach a regional rep who could tell you where the nearest well equipped dealer is. They also need to know that this dealer is unprepared.
This part of the tractor should still be under warranty, but it doesn't help with the part of the problem that the nearest dealer might be 10hrs away.

the dealer is absolutely supposed to have Diagmaster. If they don't, they're not much of a dealer, IMO. Even the dealer I worked for had it....and it was a TINY dealership specializing mostly in lawn & garden stuff.

...And diagmaster is REQUIRED to do diagnostics on these. Sure you might find a loose hose or something but the dealer really needs to put the dyno on it, then hook up Diagmaster and watch the pressures and flows to see what's going on. At that point, a repair can be investigated.

10 hours to the dealer? Where are you? North pole? All kidding aside, I would've thought that there would be a dealer closer than that since Kubota's about everywhere nowadays-or it seems that way anyway. It doesn't have to be the selling dealer, any authorized kubota dealer should be able to handle it as long as they have compact tractors and now L&G equipment. Some of the L&G stuff now has DPF....yay:rolleyes:

Ely is in the middle of the high desert in Nevada. I had to check Wikipedia to see if it had turned into a thriving metropolis since I was a kid passing through with my dad on fishing trips, but nope. There really isn't any place close by big enough to support a dealership of any size. Maybe 5 hrs to Salt Lake City?

Send a PM to whitetiger and see if he can give you some ideas so you don't have to spend 20 hours to haul it/leave it/haul it again

The Kubota website has a dealer directory and also email and phone numbers on this page

https://www.kubotausa.com/contact

There is a dealer in Elko which might be closer, and a couple in Utah. Might be worth phoning them to see if they would diagnose and fix while you wait.
Also if you send an email to their contact address with model and serial number they can tell you if there is a campaign out on your tractor.

Let us know how you make out.

Or perhaps a dealer could make a service call? Worth asking about, in my opinion. Sure saves a lot of frustration hauling it. Tell 'em to bring a laptop with Diagmaster loaded on it--and it would be a good idea to have a loading device hooked to the PTO, such as a finish mower or something along those lines.

He said 10 hours round trip. That's 5 hours each way, not 10. Also, mobile service calls are extremely expensive. You're talking around $150 per hour X the 10 driving hours, plus fees for anything not covered by warranty.

Thanks for all of your help...think the air cleaner just needed replacing. Now I need to figure out how to get rid of error code.
You local dealer sounds... well inept!
As Lugbolt said you need digimaster (it's like OBD2 but specific to kubota) to clear the code and a dealer should have that setup.

If you local deal does not have the Digimaster or the skill to use it, I would send Kubota Corporate a message about your local dealer not having digimaster and see if they could provide any assistance. ;)
